Well I’ve just come off of the phone after a conversation with my liver specialist who has now told me if I keep off of the booze and cigs and continue to eat healthy and exercise there is no reason why my liver can’t return to normal after the progress in just 3 months to say I’m overwhelmed is an understatement there’s still a long way to go and my liver is still inflamed and very fragile but there is HOPE XX
Hope: Well I’ve just come off of the... - British Liver Trust

Hi just read your post from 26 days ago as new to this site. How has things been going since then. Hope all good and going in right direction.
Still sober !! Still suffering with fatigue and aching legs etc but I’ve heard that it could take a while so fingers crossed 🤞 for a full recovery…. Thanks for asking
That's fab news 😀
Doing ok now cheers. I went into hospital 2 weeks ago as had A.F HR 186bpm and averaged 140-150 for 5 days till went back to sinas rhythm. Tests showed fatty diposits on liver and ALT reading of 169 due to drinking 60-70 units alcohol a week. Told to cut drinking down and eat healthier. So wake up call to sort myself out and only have unhealthy things in moderation.
I’d cut the drinking out completely if I were you sounds like you’ve got a second chance I didn’t heed the warnings and carried on drinking not my best idea
Have only had 3 pints since I came home on 12th July but yeah don't want to go back drinking as before. Was surprising how the units added up seeing mates/family at weekends for a drink and a few cans after work during the week watching TV at night.
I tried the cutting down but eventually it started to rise and before I knew it I was back drinking the same again and then ended up in hospital and now I can’t drink so my advice is leave it alone as long as you can (if you can’t stop for good)let your liver heal itself good luck and keep me posted 👍🏻
Thanks for advice mate. Means a lot how supportive people are on this site and give good advice
