Blood tests

For everyone that doesn’t know my story .

I’m a very fit 58 female who has never smoked or drink alcohol .

I’ve always exercised and am a very healthy weigh .

I had a gastroscopy and portal hypertension showed up on my liver and stomach .

I have been extremely worried and anxious .

I had a ct scan 3 days after that and it showed liver damage etc and on Sunday had an mri waiting anxiously for results .

On Sunday the mri person said they only get blood tests sent for Kidneys because of contrast and that was 95 and she said was very good .

I rang the gp for blood tests and I couldn’t get passed the receptionist !

She said that the gps will only do what the consultant advises and hadn’t even got my ct scan results .

Another worrying stressful day x

Hi,

It can be a really difficult time waiting for results. MRI's can take a while to get back as a consultant radiologist has to look at the scan and write the report.

We would suggest speaking to a GP and explaining to the receptionist that you would like an appointment. The GP will know more about the reporting times for the scan and may have access to the CT electronically.

Good luck and keep us posted :)
