Hi and welcome, I've been on and off steroids since my tp two years ago at the end of the month more on than off and like you every time they try to reduce them my liver isn't happy. I'm reducing my dose at the moment but won't know how it's going until I go for blood tests in three weeks. Like you keeping my fingers crossed. Hope everything goes the right way for you.

No I was tapered off at 2.5mg for a week then every other day for a week, you shouldn't have just been stopped like that. I'm currently taking 5 mg but have to go for bloods week after to see if my liver is happy 🤞 they keep mentioning biopsy.

Sorry for the late reply ,im on azathioprine, taculimus and prednisolone, they are trying to wean me off the prednisone this is the 2nd attempt and fingers crossed my alts wont raise as it stands my alts are 34 which is good for me at the moment ,just that the prednisone has caused me to be a diabetic

What dose do they get you down to before your ALT rises again? Some folks end up not being able to come off them altogether - my hubby is on 5mg a day maintainance dose just to deal with any blips in liver bloods. He was described as pre-diabetic, maybe a combination of pred and possibly cirrhosis induced in his case.

I'm on Azathioprine for AIH. Steroids as and when my levels increase to bring them back down

Im on azathioprine, taculimus and prednisolone this is my 2nd attempt to be weaned off prednisone my alts are 34 at the moment thats good for me, just that prednisone has caused me to be a diabetic which hopefully with the prednisone being reduced will bring my diabetes down
