Help please at what point with acetis ... - British Liver Trust
Help please at what point with acetis do you consider A and E
My A&E treated me the same but I finally got the direct line to the people who do the drains. I could then bypass A&E. They would turn me away at A&E with just a few pain killers and told to elevate my legs.
Cheers,
Brett
I would phone 111 and ask their opinion. A nurse or Doctor will then speak to you and phone for an ambulance if they think needed. I have always been treated better using this approach as the ambulances don,t seem to see me as a time waster. Let us know how you get on whatever you decide to do. x
I used to go a&e once or twice a week to be drained it was too uncomfortable I couldn't eat, breathe or move ... I never rang an ambulance though just take a taxi ... If he suffering then you should go but if he can wait until tomorrow when you see the consultant then just wait
High again when you say you couldn't eat did it make feel sick due to being so bloated with water as he as a bad stomach tonight after food and feeling sick this is just so worrying trying to hold out till tomorrow
We been through a&e , if he has difficulty breathing they will admit him. We always have a problem finding the route to get admitted to get drained. Chief nurse on the ward told us last week, contact GP to book us into admittion ward. That's what we will try the next time, we have tried every route, and always feel like nobody wants to do the admission .
It is difficult no information which route to go he his more comfortable today he saying his belly bit bad after food could this be the pressure of the water on the stomach can't wait for tomorrow to see consultant thank you for replying it takes a huge weight off my mind because everything so scary I feel alone
My hubby had to go approx 4 weekly, last drain was only 19days. I know they won't drain you any sooner than they have to, this is because it's always an infection risk. Then an infection would be a huge disaster, hang on as long as he can, then go via GP. Ask to be admitted. Hope this helps.

Hi
It's so hard waiting for appointments isn't it? When I feel really rough my consultant's secretary is very good at getting an earlier appointment for me, you could try that if you are stuck in the future. I hope you go on on tomorrow, , please let us know how you get on . You both take care. Love and hugs to you both Lynne. Xxxx
Thank you survived another night without going I feel he thinks he safer in there cause that's how ill he feels seems a bit brighter this morning but as the day goes on he gets worse fingers crossed we will have some answers today and some future help when this happens thank you so much xx
Not sure what stage you are at with hubbies care plan but not he's been sober for a long spell now, make sure one of your questions today is about possible transplant assessment.
All the best,
Katie
Hope you go on on today xxxx
