Green card

I am AB rehsus negative, I had to carry a green card in case I was in an accident. But after 64years it has had its day. Where can I get a new green card from.

Have you tried asking your GP if such a thing still exists? (I know my mum has the same and hers is certainly old and tatty too). If not then have you considered a medic alert bracelet, pendant or even just a bit of card that you've done yourself - perhaps someone can laminate one for you for in your pocket/purse.

Not sure if anyone on here will be able to be of much more use as this is a liver disease forum.

All the best, Katie

Just reading a bit on line, in the event of you requiring an emergency blood transfusion the hospital would probably not take credence of a card and would in the first instance give O neg then blood type match for correct type. No harm in having a card but they probably arn't going to search you for it in the event of an emergency.

I to am AB negative ,was a blood donor and my “ green card” was attached. Having worked in A&E for decades O negative is given till a type specific blood is cross matched .

Don’t worry you will be in safe hands .
