I was diagnosed with acute alcoholic hepatitis 6 weeks ago and haven't drank a drop since. My Alt/Ast were elevated (he did not say how high) and I had vomiting and no appetite, but my CT scan was not alarming to the ER doctor, he told me I needed to quit and did not admit me. I have been exercising, eating a well balanced diet, vitamins, some caffeine - I feel great except I get periodic pain in my liver area and am wondering if that is normal 6 weeks into sobriety. I dont take any medications.

I would recommend you go back and see your MD. Doctors often take short cuts when it comes to liver disease. You go and see them about a suspected liver problem and the first question they ask is, "Do you drink Alcohol". If you say yes, then they'll put it down to being alcohol-abuse.
If after 6-weeks you are still feeling some discomfort then I would go back and explain that you still don't feel right and that you still have some discomfort after six weeks. They should then rule out alcohol as being the cause and go looking for other possible issues. These could range from being a gallbladder problem, or a enlarged liver due to other causes.
Good luck
Richard.
Hi and welcome,
Did the doctor refer you to hepatology? ( liver department) It may be a good idea to be under their care and have a review of your liver function and symptoms.
Best wishes.
