Hello Bradsy, although we arn't meant to comment on results the interpretation of fibroscan results is widely available on line so it is possible to help with yours.
About Your CAP Score
Your CAP score is a measurement of fatty change in your liver. Your healthcare provider will use your CAP score to find out your steatosis grade.
The CAP score is measured in decibels per meter (dB/m). It ranges from 100 to 400 dB/m. The table below shows ranges of CAP scores and the matching steatosis grade and amount of fatty change.
CAP Score Steatosis Grade Amount of Liver with Fatty Change
238 to 260 dB/m S1 11% to 33%
260 to 290 dB/m S2 34% to 66%
Higher than 290 dB/m S3 67% or more
So your score of 312 CAP relates to S3 or the most advanced level of fatty build up in liver.
The kPa score relates to fibrous change within your liver measured from F0-F4 (with F4 being cirrhosis). For different liver conditions the score at which you jump from one stage of fibrosity differs and for non alcohol related fatty liver disease a score of 8.0 kPa would sit on the cusp of F2 - F3.
At this stage you could potentially reverse the degree of both fat and fibrous tissue if you were able to address the underlying cause of your condition being the NAFLD.
The British Liver Trust has a patient guide about NAFLD together with a recently published document where a Mediterranean diet has been looked into as a way of tackling NAFLD.

Hopefully you have a follow up appointment in the pipeline to discuss the scan result with your doctor and to progress a treatment plan. With NAFLD improved dietary health and perhaps more exercise will help greatly and will also help with your pre-diabetes too.
All the best, Katie
