I believe that it is very common, I was certainly very confused when I came to in the intensive care unit. Back on the ward with the other transplant patients, we all shared the same feelings and called it the twilight zone.

Did it go on for some time ?

Things certainly improved when I was moved to the ward and non of us could remember the timescale or to start with, even what day it was. But things settled down fairly quickly, once on the ward. I did have vivid nightmares but again, they stopped after about a week.

Thats really common. The meds post transplant are pretty powerful and can have such effects. I thought I was driving round my home town in the 1970s, like a scene from life on Mars, lol. Strange thing about that was, I'd never actually watched life on mars!

Love the fact he thought he'd gone for a Chinese. That's a classic.

Hi yes I had similar things like that after my op one 1 occasion I thought I was at home and didn't know why and I was trying to get back to the hospital and remember asking the doctor 2 take me back to the ward to which she said I was on the ward lol. Then I kept seeing my granddaughter peeping round the curtains. Strange things. it didn't last long I think meds were to blame . My friend told me Robert Redford was hiding under her bed. Ha. Take care and keep well.

According to my wife I had hallucinationsJust before and after my Transplant, One nurse told my wife she walked into my room one day and I was bouncing on the bed like a child on a trampoline, then after my Transplant I was drawing things in the air while I was laid in my bed, when she asked the Doctor about it he said it was common among patients because of the meds and toxins in my system, then one day he came into my room and saw me doing it and he told my wife how facinated he was to actually see it as that was his first time.
