weird stool?

hey so I'm undergoing some tests due to stomach pain, I had an ultrasound done which came back clear but I'm still terrified I have pancreatic cancer or something like that! I'm 30 years old which I know would be rare but not unheard of! Could the ultrasound miss this?? I have upper back pain that comes and goes but I know I have had this a while, I feel like my stools smell weird and today floating, I am paranoid there's oil but it's not obvious, I'm taking vitamin d supplements could this cause this? I am a very panicky person so I'm worrying myself over all this!

Symptoms do all point to a potential gall bladder issue rather than anything much more sinister. britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...

thank you for the reply, can gallbladder issues be missed on an ultrasound? I read that pancreatic cancer can be missed in 10% of scans and I freaked! Xx

My hubby who has cirrhosis has 6 monthly monitoring ultrasounds - they never spotted that he had gall stones blocking his bile duct on ultrasound and they were only picked up when he had an MRI following some other changes in his liver. So yes ultrasound probably not the best tool for the job. He went on to have an ERCP procedure to clear out his bile duct of stones and prevent further blockages.

Ah that's really reassuring actually, my mind went straight to they've missed pancreatic cancer I didn't even think they may of just missed gallstones! I'm going to speak to my dr Tuesday so I will ask about further testing for sure! Xx

Wouldn't a blood test tell you if you have cancer

No!

It can, or at least show abnormalities that would encourage further examination.

Would need to be a very specific test.

They can't see anything on my gallbladder or liver via ultrasound should I request more testing? Xx

An MRI of the gallbladder and pancreas called MRCP is more accurate. It's one of the cheaper MRI scans privately; uk.scan.com/ charge £350.
