Got my elastography results yesterday and was told on the spot I had no fibrosis and a very mild fatty liver. By no means i'm out of the woods yet since this fat in my liver needs to go and I need to lose weight. Still have digestion issues which they need to investigate but i'm glad I have no damage to my liver. I did get a lot information and support on this forum which I really grateful for, stay safe everyone.

Good news. 'Love your liver' and discuss some help with your diet and lifestyle with your doctors.

Keep us posted how you get on :)

Thank you!

I will definitely do, I learned a massive lesson from this frightening journey. I should not take my liver and general health for granted. 😊

Hi Sstteevve, I see you posting on this thread trying to gauge 'how bad your liver is'. Can I suggest you start your own thread with a little of your story and what symptoms you have and folks can then jump in with their experiences. I would say you should be asking your consultant for copies of your reports - you are entitled to these and they will fill you in on what is happening with your liver. If you ever need to apply for benefits to support your life with a long term health condition you also need to supply these to support your claim. You need to learn a bit about your condition so when you have appointments you can glean as much information out of your doctors as possible and that way you will know what is going on without having to guess based on other folks experiences.

The British Liver Trust page on cirrhosis is an excellent one which details a lot of the signs and symptoms of cirrhosis. Another good page is the one they have on the patients charter and what you should expect from your health care.

I attend hubbies appointments with him as two pairs of ears are always better than one, I keep a file of all his medical appointments and reports and before every appointment we list all current meds, current symptoms and all the questions we want to ask and in that way we manage his condition and know what we need to push for as regards monitoring etc. You need to be proactive in your own care so that you are playing a part in looking after your condition going forward. We've had to 'gently' nudge some doctors who have forgotten to order things in time and such like. If you know a bit you can ask more pertinent questions etc.

Hello Steve, my main symptoms where ruq pain, yellow stool and suddenly having really bad acid reflux. This all happened during a alcohol relapse so my anxiety must have played a rol aswel. I do still have these symptoms, ruq pain is nearly gone. My stool is under investigation to see if they can find anything. I mainly pushed for a elastography and CT scan since I wanted to know if there was anything wrong. I would try to do the same, take care.
