I had my gallbladder out 1/29, have had some UR abdominal pains lately ( yes I drink, a bit too much though much less now than I was), dr sent for u/s which has come back “ liver shows normal size and echogenity”. Does that mean all is well, carry on? Or could fatty liver still be a problem? Your thoughts?

Ultrasound results
An ultrasound looks at the size & shape of a liver. If that's normal as it is in your case then the assumption is that your liver is healthy. This may or may not be the case because a liver that is normal in size & shape might be scarred (fibrotic or even cirrhotic) & have fatty infiltration which may not show up on an ultrasound but would in a FibroScan. A FibroScan would have complemented the ultrasound giving a score for fibrosis and the extent of any fatty infiltration. If your blood test results are normal any fatty infiltration is most likely benign.
I’m in almost the exact same situation except I had mine out in November. Dr even said my liver looked good while he was in there. I’m planning on talking to my gastro in the near future. I’m trying not to stressing too much due to all the previous tests looking good and the drs comment. I’m focusing on eating healthy, exercising, and extreme little to no alcohol in the mean time. I’ve also taken bile salts and it helps with the pain occasionally
