Scared of skin symptoms and possible of having cirrhosis

Hope everyone is doing well. I have a question about possible cirrhosis. I have many symptoms and I am getting tested currently with my new gastro doctor. I have been a weekend drinker once a week for last 10 years.

Symptoms: For last 2 years Visible green veins on arms, ribcage, chest and possibly on stomach. stomach one is very faint and you could only see when I press really hard on the area and I spotted it 3 months ago. I also have thread veins/spider veins on upper chest and couple of them on nose/eyes and ears. I have gynecomastia and I have had it for long time but now it is worse. My weight has been consistent. Stomach veins have me worried so much. I sometimes have upper right quadrant pain below ribcage but it is not consistent. I also have red palms.

My labs from last 2 years.

Fibrosure Test Jan 2019

Fibrosure Test March 2020

Platelets was 286

Ultrasound was done last year in june and it was normal. Also one was done in dec 2018 which was also normal.

I was just tested for CMP and PT/INR and waiting for result. Doc want to do ultrasound and appointment is next week. They also have fibroscan which I am going to be asking for next week.

What do you all think of me having cirrhosis?

Thank You!

Hi Jet

No one here is medically qualified and also BLT frown upon the sharing of results as interpretation can be very dependant on labs on reference ranges and it's not clear whether any of the results you have post are high or not.

However, given what you describe and given that both your recent ultrasounds have been normal, my guess would be that you dont have cirrhosis.

Thank You Kristian! Labs are well within the reference ranges. My last ultrasound was over a year ago but I am getting one next week. I am trying to push for fibroscan but not sure if I will need doctors referral for it though. Sad part is Doctor doesn't want to see me in person given the covid situation. And next appointment is after 4 weeks.

Good morning ,

We ask that forum members do not post photographs or test results, no-one in this forum is medically qualified to assess and diagnose from them .

I have attached a link to liver disease tests explained which may help for your upcoming investigations.

With those blood numbers, which are pretty normal and clear ultrasound I really wouldnt worry.

Google 'fib 4 calculator' then punch in your numbers.

Thanks B3nnen2015! I will google fib4 calculator. I am just worried because of these blue/green veins started showing on my abdomen right before my fibrosure test. Hopefully will figure out what it is as I am having another ultrasound this coming saturday. I also got a call from Gastro's office today and nurse said that my CBC with Platelets, Metabolic Panel, PTT, PT/INR came back normal. I also asked for Fibroscan which doctor needs to prescribe and I don't think it will happen before 3rd week of July!

Hope you are safe and doing well!

Hey Steve, Thank you I am doing well. Hope you are doing well.

So after 2 normal Fibrosure tests, couple of ultrasound and many other blood tests, my gastro dismissed the possibility of having cirrhosis. But I still pushed for having Fibroscan and he agreed. I had one on July 28, 2020. It came back normal. My doctor said I have no significant scarring and mild fat. Score was 5Kpa. He asked me to change my lifestyle and watch what I eat and drink. He asked me to see Endocrinologist. He thinks my symptoms could be hormone related. I haven't seen Endo as I lost my health insurance.
