I’m 29 and was born with Biliary Atresia so had liver disease for 27yrs. I started to become unwell and listed for a liver at 23, transplant at 27. I’m a nurse for the NHS in ITU at QEHB Birmingham in the area where some of you may have been post transplant.
I wanted to let you all know about my new YouTube channel called Olivia’s Liver.
I’ve started this as I struggled to find any info and first hand experiences through YouTube or video blog, of liver disease, pre and post op etc. As I have life long experience with liver disease and nursing experiences, I decided to start my own channel along with my personal blog in order to help others. Please have a look for me if you have time.
Hi Olivia, haven’t read your blog yet, but I assure you I will!!
I just wanted to say thank you for all you do. Yes, I had my transplant at qehb, and spent 4 days on itu. Did I ever meet you?? I’m sorry, but if I did, I don’t remember, but I don’t remember a great deal about that time. I do remember Eddie though, and say hi to him if he’s still there!!
Hi Olivia, a year ago last Friday, so before you were there. A fascinating place to work. Enjoy it there, and do keep well. A.
Hi Olivia
Welcome from myself and thank you for highlighting your blog which I'll read shortly.
I'm going to wish you every happiness at the QE as I worked there myself as a student nurse in the 60's👍🙂. My niece currently works there as a Manager for medical coding! My mum and dad and my brother in law who was then director of catering after 40 year so as a family we have many happy memories of the QE which I wish for you
Take care and I look forward to following your blog!
