Liver cancer- media request

Dear all,

Please see below a media request that we have agreed to post.

Many thanks

Do you have liver cancer? Can you help with news piece?

I’m making a short documentary for Channel 4 News about the financial impacts that can come with a cancer diagnosis. This can include loss of income to the patient, loss of income if a patient’s partner has to become their carer, extra travel costs for treatment, etc. If you find yourself in this position and would be interested in having your say in a news piece, please email me at jez@bungalow-town.com

Why liver cancer? Surely all cancers come with loss of income, travel expenses for appointments etc..🤔🤔

in reply to Mama41

Of course, we agree all cancers do absolutely come with a loss of income and travel etc. I would think that this media request came to us as we are the Liver Trust, therefore liver specific.

Best wishes

I'm aware of why you got the request lol..just seems strange to single out one type of cancer to run a feature of this type on..

Why not?

Perhaps the Journalist has good reason to select and highlight the Liver for this topic in particular rather than a generalize on the subject. Family or friend suffering?

Liver Cancer is one of the common forms of cancers in the world. The records have indicated that Liver Cancer is more dominant in men than women. Stage 4 Liver Cancer has been indicated as one of the most fatal cancer.

The last line says it all.

Thank you for the brief synopsis of liver cancer but as a liver cancer patient for the last 11 years it was actually unnecessary 😁..

Like I said it seems strange to single out one type of cancer to do this sort of article on..when the costs associated with any cancer diagnosis are the same whether you have liver cancer or breast cancer or penile cancer...

in reply to Mama41

Sorry about that. I didn't go back 4/5 yrs or read into your profile titles?

A mere member since July. I just quoted that whilst trying to second guess the reason why?

I'm not going to ask you why?

I have been tested myself though obviously this is the norm. No news is good news.

Perhaps we should e-mail the individual.🤔

BW.
