Hi I have cirrhosis was diagnosed last September. Health better no alcohol eating well last few weeks I have had a pain in my shoulder worse lying down. Do you think this is liver related, have fluid in abdomen bring treated with diuretics. Been feeling not too bad up until this 😔

It can be, there can be referred pain in your right shoulder with liver disease. But it can be others things too. Definitely worth a mention at your next clinic appointment though. Its stuff like that they want to hear.

Hi Violet,

Some people do report liver pain radiating in the back and right shoulder blade.

However, there can of course be other causes of pain in that area. Can you contact your doctor to discuss this?

Best wishes

Snap same diagnosis same date. Other than Non alcoholic unknown cause.

I’ve not had any shoulder pain, but fluid retention yep !, from feet up to under rib cage. On my 5th week of a small dose diuretic. It’s has made a difference slowly but surely. Eaten well since hooking up with the forum early on, and following the experience, knowledge of others plus the information given on their website links. Magic 👌.

Even eating a healthy diet, lost plenty of weight initially, but I needed to 😬. I continue to keep well most of the time now, with the occasional blip, or mole hills as I call them. A little nausea, or lethargy, but just put myself in time out, relax on my bed, soon passes 😴.

The key 🔑, take time, enjoy 😊 when able, relax when you can’t.

Had an ongoing shoulder pain, could no longer lay on my side, slept on my back and kept the house awake snoring 😬 I found naproxen helped, I was eventually diagnosed with a frozen shoulder, try and do some stretches, it went as quickly as it came after around 4 weeks.
