Well, entering day 8 in the big brother house!! What an 8 days it’s been. Thought I’d posted an update yesterday but clearly hadn’t so will try again today.
Best nights sleep since being here last night. And that includes Brian the nurse coming to connect a drip in at midnight, which then needed a new cannula!! But all good and back to sleep.
Biopsy a couple of days ago - still awaiting the results, have been promised this morning so I will chase, but saw all my numbers yesterday, all positively heading in the right direction.
Had a really good day yesterday. But super busy. Visit from tx co-ordinators, very informative, promptly followed by visit from pharmacist, and all these new pills suddenly start to make sense. Throw in a visit from my son who’s at uni here, and comes daily, the physio who was really happy with progress, and of course my stalwart Samantha who surprised me by coming up on Wednesday and was present through all the meetings!!
Who’d have thought I could be busy in hospital eh!!
You know what it’s beginning to feel like home time. Everyone seems happy with my progress, I’m finding it easier to move around every day and night. They are starting to mutter discharge, which is fabulous/amazing. But I’m being pragmatic about it. Things need to be right first, as much as I want to go home we need to make sure the numbers are right. And of course the biopsy result!! But, all looking good so far.
The support I’ve had has been incredible both from all the staff at qehb, I can never thank them enough. To you guys in forum land. So nice to know you’re there supporting in your own way. And of course, you know who, who’s been fantastic. Thank you all.
Andy
Oh, saw one of the itu nurses yesterday for first time since leaving there and he went ‘wow, you look amazing man!’ To which I replied cheers Eddie you don’t look too bad yourself!! But it’s nice when someone can visually see the progress you’ve made in a few days!!
