Got the call at 10 am yesterday. Upto Kings in a fast response vehicle. Back home by half eight yesterday evening. Another no go. Emotionally ok now after so many failed attempts it's kind of become the norm. When it does happen it will just be an added bonus. Apologies if I sound a bit crass but it's my way of dealing with the situation.

Hi Maxey. Sorry to hear of another no go. At least you know that you are a priority and I'm sure it will happen soon. Get a good nights sleep, the next call could be very soon! Hoping the next call is the one. All good wishes. Alf.
Thanks Alf. Haven't slept all that well. The transplant coordinator that I had was so good. She continually kept me updated and when told me that it wasn't going ahead managed to secure some hospital transport home in less than an hour which was refreshing as I usually get the train . Not sure how she wangled that one as the wait is usually hours.
Hi Maxey. Good to know that you were being properly looked after. Well deserved after 6 failed calls! Nice to be able to go home door to door saving not only time but extra stress when you're tired and very probably emotionally drained. Rooting for you and willing your next call to be soon. Get that good sleep tonight! Alf.
Sorry to hear and hope you as well as can be. Hopefully you managed some sleep and the next call goes ahead and is soon
Hi Maxey, I am truly so gutted to hear of this disappointment again. I hope you can rest and regroup again, ready for the next call, which is so near. Jaycee
Oh Bu99er it Maxey, not again. please try not to get despondent, when they get a perfect liver, you will get it. Your not being crass, it's just a coping mechanism we use, to make us feel better. I hope and pray your wait for a good liver will happen very soon.
Thanks David. I do seem to be able to cope easier now having been called so many times. Being in relatively good health and feeling strong at the moment helps no end.
my heart goes out to you Maxey, you will end up in the Guinness Book of Records the way you are going. My fingers are crossed for you, that the next one will be THE one. Just curious, but do they explain why it doesn't happen etc.? I hope to see some good news in the very near future for you. K
They give a brief explanation each time. 4 have been DCD ( donar by cardiac death) where there is an hour window of opportunity to remove the organ after life support has been removed due to blood pressure levels / oxygen depletion amongst other reasons. Twice this had been successful and the livers had been transported to Kings only to find upon physical examination were deemed to fatty for transplant leaving me resting in the knowledge that they will only give me a perfect liver.
Sorry to hear this, my husband has been on the list 4 weeks now, he got a call last week and we flew over to Kings but it the liver wasn’t suitable, we were advised to stay overnight just in case. He’s so unwell at the minute and I hope we get another call soon.
Wishing you all the best and hope also the next call for you is the one!
It's just not fair, I'm glad you're keeping positive. Also very glad to hear they brought you home this time, you shouldn't have to deal with public transport.
Sending positive vibes, and big hugs. Thinking of you.
Not been to good, had banding last week, which even under deep sedation leaves me feeling very sorry for myself. Sorry to moan, I'm feeling sorry for Maxey at the moment, so generally in a slump. Thanks for asking Trish, hope some of your problems are a bit better.
