So I finally had a fibroscan yesterday after a 4 1/2 month wait and still no wiser. I was told he couldn’t give me the results as he didn’t have a particular machine he needed to calculate it and I’d get the results through the post. Does anyone know the significance of the different colours within the rectangle during the scan or would a normal liver only show green, for example. Thanks in advance.
No fibroscan result: So I finally had a... - British Liver Trust
No fibroscan result

That does not sound like a fibroscan.Did you feel 10 little taps on your stomach while it was being done?
Fibroscan machines display numbers and results are instant.
Are you sure this was not a normal ultrasound scan.
It was a probe similar to an ultrasound that he used and I asked for results and he said he didn’t have the machine to work it out. My letter said elastogrophy but the letter before said fibroscan
Sounds like you had a Doppler ultra sound to me. That measures the blood flow of the liver etc.
I’ve checked and it was a fibroscan so I guess I’ll have to wait for the results. Most likely awaiting the consultant to check it but my platelets are really low and slightly raised bilirubin also. Other than that I don’t have anything like jaundice etc so it’s just a waiting game to be diagnosed etc
Strange because they normally tell you there and then, good or bad.
Yeah that’s what I thought too
Maybe he was just a jobsworth. They don’t realise how much worry it causes not knowing and having to wait longer for the result.
I doubt he is hiding something. You just got someone who was going by the book. I had an Echocardiogram once after a heart attack (routine 6 month first check) and I asked if everything was ok. The nurse said I can’t tell you. I said oh ok. I will have to wait for my results then. Then the other nurse, obviously a sister, said all I can say is if we had any worries you wouldn’t be leaving this room. That’s all I needed to stop me worrying. In the end all was normal. Try not to worry. I sure all will be good.
