I have been taking Tenofovir for the last few months to control my Hepatitis B viral load which is working really well with minimal side affects other than weight loss. The wife had me on a fat free diet to help with my cirrhosis but if I don’t eat little and often I can lose upto 2 pound a day.
Has anyone experienced this.
Again thank you to all the replies I get to my posts this group has been a great help the last few weeks.

Hi Steven I take this drug too . It's wonderful no side effects and it's working . My blood now shows no trace of the virus .. I should be losing weight as I need a hip operation but it's hard as I'm not very mobile due to the pain in my hip . I think you are lucky lol if it's helping you lose weight I wish it was doing that to me lol
Hi Juejue. Sorry to hear your not mobile must be frustrating. My bloods are still a little deranged from the pegsys interferon I was given but sure I read on the drug guide that it can take the protein from the body but is meant to cause weight gain. The interferon was meant to cause weight loss and I piled it on. I raised it with my consultant but she didn’t seem bothered and wants me to lose another stone but not till I’m back to full strength. I’m meeting my new gp this morning so will discuss it with him. But the Tenofovir is so much better than Interferon but still read it can cause damage to other organs. It’s a mind field. Take care. Steven
Hi Steven yes I have regular blood tests to check my liver and kidneys and so far so good . I think it's a fantastic medication as it has almost obliterated my hep b. Good luck at Drs
