I found out that I have been prescribed tenofovir. I started reading about it. I saw online that it is associated not only with kidney problems, and bone density problems, but also a weight gain and body shape changes!!! What are other peoples experiences?!

Hello all, I was wondering, are there any Hep B sufferers in the UK that have been prescribed the newer formulation of Tenofovir (Tenofovir alafenamide; TAF)? I know it is associated with a significantly lower risk of reduced kidney function.

Hi All I have been taking Tenofovir for the last few months to control my Hepatitis B viral load which is working really well with minimal side affects other than weight loss.

I am now on Tenofovir and the viral load is no longer an issue but my liver function isn’t returning as expected. I’ve been on bi daily blood tests for weeks but my alt is stil over 120 my albumin is 38, Bilirubin at 35 and platelets are in the 40’s.

So, I would appreciate if you could share with me your experience of taking tenofovir please? Side effects? Thank you xx

He is taking Tenofovir every day and additionally, lasilactone and lactulose. He has no problem with ascites since the he was started on lasilactone. From last week onwards, he is feeling nervous, weakness, loose stools, stomach pain & nausea. What can trigger this?

Doctors gave her a drug medicine and the name of drug is "Evasif 245 MG" which has active ingredient "Tenofovir". After we started to treatment she did some tests and we saw that every test results are negative for for this disease and doctor told us that means the treatment is ok.

Since then i was put on Tenofovir but it was causing side effects namely Proteinuria so now i've been put on Baraclude ( entecavir) about 1 month, seen consultant last week to see if these were ok and now says i likely have ammonia in my blood so has prescribed lactulose also.
