Hi, I'm Anne and I'm new here. Over 3 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 NASH. I'm type 2 diabetic and after routine blood tests at my GP showed concerns for my liver I was sent to hospital where a biopsy confirmed my diagnosis. I'm living in Birmingham.
Hi to all in Health Unlocked - British Liver Trust

Hi Anne and welcome to the forum. I have been where you are with NASH and diabetes type 2. I am at present nearly 11 months post transplant and after 20+ years of Diabetes type 2, I was told a few months ago that I am now in remission. The members of this forum have a wide range of liver problems and are able to discuss their own personal experiences which can be of help to other on here. I found this site when I was roughly a month post transplant and wish that I had known about it long before. There are some very knowledgeable people on here if you have any questions. Very best wishes. Alf
Hi Anne and I add my welcome
I am not one of the very knowledgeable people on here that Alf mentioned. But Alf and I have had very similar experiences and TPs within days of each other. My cirrhosis though was alcohol related.
So whilst I can’t be of help specifically I do wish you all the best and hope you continue to get good advice on here - I’m sure you will!
Miles
Thank you x
I had NASH and cirrhosis resulting from type 2 diabetes. This led to me getting a succession of tumours on my liver. I had a transplant nearly 9 months ago. Aside from some some minor issues the medics are very happy with my progress. I hope that things go well for you. Everyone says it but try to stay positive.
Hi there Anne, welcome to this awesome site. I am like Miles, I am not one of the knowledgable folks, that you will find here on this site.
All the same I send huge hugs and welcome to you. Stay strong on your journey there are lots here to help...and keep you strong.
Jaycee
Thank you x

Firstly love your nickname ! 🤣
I originate from Birmingham, the posh part near Edgbaston Cricket Ground ! Harborne which is opposite the QE Hospital!
Sorry to read about your illness! If I can cheer you up in anyway let me know !
Take care in the meantime!

Good to meet you! I'm under the QE for my liver. I live in Kings Norton. Love, Anne x
Hi Anne
Lovely to hear from you! Sorry I meant to add that my Harborne comment was a joke! It wasnt a posh area when I lived there, my family were very poor!,
Cheers for your location too!
Maybe one day we may meet 😁. To 😁. (Face)
Hope everything is going well for you at the QE ?
Take care

No problem Trish. What is your reason for being on here, do you have liver trouble? x
Hi Jam Tart
Since last July I've been having monthly blood tests for possible non alcoholic PBC following a routine blood test!
I've undergone numerous scans! CT MRI Fibroscan Ultra sounds plus camera up and down! Polyps found and removed. Inflammed Esophagus detected! and medication for life sorted.
Healthy life style and exercise kicked back in and so far I've lost 3 stone and my bloods have gone back to normal again after many many years of being told by my GP I have a drinking issue!
I see my consulant again on the 8th of October so i may get discharged based on last months bloods.
Thanks for asking !

Hi JT, Glad you posted. I started with NASH in 2002. I was also diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in about 2009. Lasy year I had a transplant and after being put on insulin initially post op, my blood sugars meant I was able to go on oral medication then come off all meds for diabetes as I too am in remission with HbA1c of 32 which is in normal range. Good luck with whatever your future holds x
Hi Jam Tart. Fantastic user name. Welcome to the forum. Sorry that you’ve had the health issues that bought you here. Everyone on here is really supportive. Warm wishes 👋
Hi there, I had NASH and was later diagnosed with t2 diabetes. I had transplant may 2017, my story is on British liver trust website and a video. I try to spread the word about NASH as much as I can as very few have heard of it. If I can be of any help just shout.
Hilary
Hello my darling Anne x
I didn't know you were having problems again I wish you had told me 😊
You know where I am if you need me xx
Hi Jam,
I'm looking forward to seeing you here! I've got cirrhosis from Hep C virus after blood transfusion given during chemotherapy. Also morbidly obese, which has led to a fatty liver.
Welcome sorry you are going through this. You are not alone.
