Hi everyone, I’ve not written for a wee while and only browsed on here for the last couple of weeks.
I just wanted to say that although we all have different issues and illnesses going on. Everyone still has the time and support for each other when it’s needed. Where else , out with your family would you find this encouragement on a daily basis?
I just wanted to wish everyone best wishes and thank you all for being there, for each other. You’re all 1 in a million. Jane xxx

Quite agree Jane, I feel the very same. We are a huge family, sometimes a tad dysfunctional LOL but we are a family. I love it. Jaycee
Your absolutely right Jane. They say a problem shared is problem halved, and that is certainly true of this forum, with the support and words of comfort from the lovely, caring people here. Long may it continue, We are greater than the sum of our parts.
Jane, What a cheering post. It's a kind of magic here, strangers who understand us so well we don't need to explain. Strangers we feel free to talk and laugh and cry with at things we may not tell people we 'know'. Just think, I could be standing beside Oldham in Lidl's, looking at Rich Tea biscuits, and never know she is the one who fell all the way down the hill at the Edinburgh Tattoo. (not unless she dropped her new phone in the freezer and got in it to retrieve it anyway)
Anyone would think I was accident prone 😂 I only fell in front of some people who were seated, I might fall all the way down next time we go🤣 love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Oh my, I got to the part where you said “I could be” and had a sudden panic in case you were standing in Lidl naked 😝 you did say we need a giggle too. Take care my lovely, and you’re right. Anonymity doesn’t keep us all from caring. Jane xx
😂 you all make me chuckle before colonoscopy on Sunday 🙁 and the prep tomorrow ugh.
Love and hugs to you all Lynne.xxxx

Me, trip, never!! Why ever would you think that?!? Love and hugs Lynne xxxx

Could you pop into Lidl's and ask for2 packs of the 5litre Tena lady pants? Oops, I have no financial interest in Lidl's or Tena Lady Pants. But you won't need to rush to the throne - you can stroll there...

I hope I make it!!! Xxxx

I can't reccommend it after my experience...
Thanks for sharing such a lovely post. We are delighted that the forum is such a safe and supportive place.
warm wishes

Well Jane
I just wanted to say I loved your message! The thought of belonging to this wonderful family pulled at my heart strings ! ❤
I'm happy to admit openly that you and other family members have been on numerous occasions my life line in so many ways which I thank you for.
We've laughed at each others mistakes or banter, we've cried behind the scenes,, we've screamed when the pains have become unbearable, but one thing we all have in common is kindness, love , passion and time for each other when times are tough or lonely.
I love each and everyone of you for who you are! There are those of us who are serious players who I truely respect, and there are those of us who are a dolly mixture of seriousness and banter! Put both ingredients together and we have one very large sucessful family caring for each other in good times and bad !
Thank you all for being there for me and for putting up with my numerous typing errors which I'm blaming on my mobile phone 😂😂or I could blame my chubby fingers .......
Nighty nite Jane and All
Love Trishy ❤❤❤

Trish, that was lovely and so very true. I never thought I would make so many friends, who are there for me come what may right from joining this wonderful forum. You have all got hearts ❤️ of gold. With all my love to you all. Lynne xxxx
I'm happy you find our banter uplifting which we all need at different times!
Well I've only just surfaced and the time is now about to hit 5.07am on a Sunday morning, so please forgive me my first message not being full of sunshine as it's still pitch black outside! Lol ......
Keep in touch as we're all here to help one and other!
First time I’ve been on here today and what a lovely post. I couldn’t agree with you more Jane and I hope everyone has had the best day they could have expected. Have a good weekend everyone xx
I’m doing ok. A bit of pain sometimes but I can put up with that because Im still here. Im cool with laughing, it’s the blooming coughing fits that get me 😉
My sympathy there. As soon as I lie down I'm coughing. Got lemons but no honey. Got sugar free polos but no help. It's not a full-blown cold but it's irritating and my abdominal muscles are tired of coughing. I'll be getting a six-pack if it carries on much longer. I don't mean beer, obvs..
I hope you are done with coughing soon. x
• in reply to
Hope you and Smyally both recover soon from your nasty coughs!
It's a shame we dont live closer as I have lots of honey going spare too!
❤
• in reply to
That's kind. I just had a spoonful of lemon butter icing left over from a cake I made earlier!! It hasn't helped but it was lovely!
Sounds daft but sometimes sucking an ice cube can help if it's a cough that starts in the throat. If it's a chesty cough though an ice cube won't touch it.
If you get a six pack of lollies and take them out of the box they don't take up much room. Or make a few cubes of breakfast orange or tomato juice if you like toms
Hello! I'm so sorry I didn't mean to worry you, just hanging out with my cat, feeling sorry for myself. Don't know how it happened but l also have got a head cold with an annoying cough. Pass the tea and honey please. Did someone say cake??
Sorry to read your feeling under the weather 👎! If you give me a minute or too I'll shake these old bones of mine and get cracking on that cake, in the meantime tea with honey on it's way......lol
Nice! I live in the piney woods on the side of a highway in a vale. (when you turn off to go to my place, you'll find yourself on a twisty steep downhill road, when it starts to go up again you turn and go uphill some more, but we're still below the highway). So l can see and hear the passing traffic but seeing as it is 1 a.m. on a Saturday, there are only lovers and fighters out tonite. There is an owl in the tree outside my window some nights. I love birds and am so happy we have a few kinds around.
Oh my Boot! Before your message arrived I was just about to write and say, right now I would rather sit with my friend drinking tea with honey watching the traffic and the pouring rain instead of lying on my sofa covered in red tapestry patterned blankets !
Your description of your surroundings sounds idyllic for a girlie chat this very moment😁 Thank you for sharing 👍
Hope you have a great weekend too. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
I don't know if you had time to look for SIBO with all the fun here. If you google and scroll down to the article in Gastroenteology and Heptology Journal, it' a few years old, but see how many symptoms many of us complain of who've had abdo surgery or autoimmune disease.
I've recently read a good book written by Guila Enders called Gut , my chiropractor Thomas Gwilliam recommended it when my liver and gut issue's kicked off. I found the book an extremely interesting read! Maybe some of you might want to give it a read ....
• in reply to
Pleased if it helps you!
I got Giulia Enders when it was published, luckily heard her on the radio. I bought the book several times for others! Squatting on the loo? Great solution. Quite tricky to do, best practiced when you don't need to go! What would be safer is get your local handy-man in to build a platform with a hole over the loo. You'd need steps up to it. Once up there you could totally squat. Of course if you can afford to get one sunk in the floor, no need to risk climbing up etc! Alf might be able to draw up plans after his success with flat-pack wardrobes?
After SIBO reading, I'm going to get tested. Treating it is different for everyone because of differing bacterial overload. And even then, it changes over time in an individual. I'm always looking for solutions that don't involve more meds. Did you find that you may have this? I thought about you and some of the random symptoms you mentioned.
Miles, do you get regular, small intestine belly ache, flatulence, dire rear, constipation? Some people do that had abdo surgery. Or/and autoimmune. SIBO can be a cause. A series of breath tests after eating can detect it. It can be remedied through diet. Or antibiotic if necessary. Nothing erudite about this? Or me, thank you very much!
Nobody has to smell your breath! It's analysed to show what gasses are there which indicates a likely source of the problem.

Well put Filly! I think a re read of the book may be called for, however that's subject to my concentration level these days if I can get past the first 2 pages ! 👎
• in reply to
Hi Filstines
Well like you I found the book interesting but the idea of swatting didnt really appeal to me, however what Gulia Enders explained within her book does actually make sense!
Maybe Alf could set up a production loo plank line with a central hole set at a certain height 😂😂😂
Re me! All I know is I'm conundrum to the medical profession, but hopefully after my latest blood test, further CT Thorax, Abdomen and Pelvis Scan plus biopsy of my Liver things will become more clear as to what is actually going on ! CT 27th November, consultant appointment is the 7th of January! Biopsy - no appointment as yet !
There is good news here, it means I can stay on the forum 😂😂
• in reply to
.. I don't think you have to have a liver disease to be here and I'm sure as heck it doesn't help if you do!
I'm sure that I could draw up better plans for a platform over the loo (with steps) than the dyslexic incompetent that produced the plans for my flat-pack wardrobe.
In fact had I been asked about the toilet platform at the point where I entered day 2 on my wardrobe construction I would have volunteered the wood for the project.
As it happens, now it stands there, like a monument, in all it's finished glory, as a reminder to me to never, ever, ever be daft enough to attempt to assemble another piece of flat-pack furniture, or be foolish enough to believe the claims that it will only take me an hour of my time.
Couldn't agree with you more Jane. This community amazes me with so many different people giving words of encouragement. It has a real family vibe about it. Xx
I'm not too bad all things considered. Tired much of the time but am starting to sleep a bit better at the moment. Just waiting for the next call of lucky no 7 ( everything crossed)
Couldn't do pain injections yesterday cos blood sugar too high, I'm testing at home as well, I had to do a 24 hour urine collection to test for gastric tract carcinomas, results next week and colonoscopy on Sunday, prep tomorrow evening ugh. You've been going through my h worse, though. Please take care of yourself Lynne
Too true Lynne. It’s a horrid waiting game. ☹️👎🏻. I hope that when the new “law” comes in next spring 2020 availability of livers etc will improve tremendously! Of course 🤞🤞 Maxey will be well into recovery by then!
Thanks everyone, what a giggle I’ve had reading through some of the messages.i hope it took your minds off the serious stuff for a while. You’re all amazing! Thanks for being here. Jane xx
Hi everyone, what a laugh I’ve had today with all this banter going on. You forget the pains etc for a while just listening, I must say I have been on this forum nearly a year and it has helped me soo much. All the people especially some have more knowledge and understanding than the doctors, I feel blessed I joined this forum where asking anything is not too much or too minor, i love you All guys and as a sufferer find comfort having you here to support each other 🤗 love Kalsoom
I find the people change but the support from everyone is still the same!
I guess wee all need that wee bit of advice and reassurance at times from people who are going through the same journey.
There still is the odd face or two that I remember from my yrs of using the site!
I think for me it's a place to feel you can actually share your journey with people who went through the same issues with liver disease without feeling the need to hold back.
My goodness guys, that was some conversation thread! Sorry I wasn’t ignoring you all, I was away to Glasgow overnight (170 miles away) it looks like a party was had by all. I’m happy to have caught up with all the mad humour, love to you all, hope you have a great weekend. Jane xx
Love to you Jane and thank you for making this hilarious thread!
Picturing Lynne climbing all the way into the freezer at Lidl's really gave me a much needed laugh. One of the first things l did here in my newly adopted town was trip and fall on the crowded sidewalk in front of a window full of people enjoying themselves. And then l could not get up easily, so embarrassing.
It is nice to be missed too. I didn't think anyone would notice tbh. So glad that's not true. 😊
It's so good to see you back! You not be missed? Please make a note and put it where you'll always see it to remind you how much your presence here is appreciated and loved. xx
Boot, everyone has grown on here, in friendships and knowledge, of course you’ve been missed my lovely. I’ve had a giggle with this thread too, Jane xx
