Good day all just to update my earlier post. I had my appointment with the hep doctor yesterday and first thing was given a fibroscan the results were 6.3 kpa and I was told this was a good score so the slight course exchotexture on the ultrasound must have been mild. The bad news was my ultrasound also showed a cyst I was not really concerned about it but the doctor was so I had another round of blood work and am being sent for a cat scan soon. Im glad I quit drinking when I did and Im also glad that this cyst was found now hopefully it's not going to be a problem. I asked if the cyst was caused from my drinking and was assured it was not so that made me feel a little bit better.
Thank you for the update. I am so glad to hear that you are being taken care off by a specialist, it makes such a difference when you have a doctor who knows what she/he is talking about.
I wish you well, try not to worry and please keep us updated on your progress.
Most cysts are benign. They'll do the CT or MRI just to make sure what it is made of or filled with just to be sure. But most they are happy just to leave. I developed a cysts in my new liver after transplant and they weren't bothered in the slightest by it.
I am so happy for you Boone. My fibroscan is this coming Wednesday 14th. I was the one with "the somewhat coarsened liver" and other organs were normal. I'm hoping I'll be as lucky as you as I want to share my retirement with my loving husband and see my adult children achieve their goals, just as you will see your little children achieve theirs now! So happy for you.
Thanks Shuu I was pretty relieved when I got my results now I just need to get this cyst thing sorted out. I'm sure you will be fine with your fibroscan as our ultrasounds were very similar. I'm very happy that I decided to quit drinking and focus on my health now as I'm sure In a few years I would have been in more trouble. We are now doing all we can do and I'm sure we will both enjoy our kids for years to come. I'll be thinking of you on Wednesday
Fibro 3.3. Very fortunate. Look after yourself. Will be thinkig of you re cyst. Sendongyou positive vibes. We are never drinking again right..... never. You'll see your kids become adults and you and you wife will be grandparents. I'll be the same with my adult kids.
All the best for a long & healthy life for us both. 😊
Shuu

Sorry to hear that you are struggling with so much Hidden you have many inflammatory conditions which will make you feel very unwell and hypothyroidism is one of the least understood illnesses of our time, a terrible affliction.

I'm doing well thanks. I'm still worried about my upcoming CT scan but not much I can do but wait and see what happens. I'm still stuggling with guilt about my past drinking but working on letting that go as well. I hope your feeling well.
Take care
Boone
