Hi jojo, I've had many unexplained bruises that colour on my forearms mainly. I am getting a lot less of them now and so I suppose that it was mainly due to my immunosuppressants that have been reduced a fair bit now. They take a long time to fade but I can't recall them being itchy. Hope you get an answer about them and get them sorted. Alf
Hey Jojo, how’s you apart from the bruising ? I get lots of unexplained bruising had a whopper on my tummy took ages to fade, I have had weird hot, itchy feelings on my legs and then I have noticed bruising, bit strange don’t have any answers soz but if you get any let me know 👍🏻😊😁
Yes, I've had them , get bruising and itching. I have also started to itch all over, feels like it's under the skin and my skin is sort of crawling/prickling. Let me know how you get on please. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Thanks but I have tried that. My Dr put me on fexofenadine ages ago which did work but doesn't work very well now, he then prescribed a normal antihistamine on Monday which is neither use nor ornament!!! I've now gone back to fexofenadine, it has just took the edge off slightly. Thank you for your advice. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
Hi had my liver transplant assessment found out i am blood group AB. Also my mri scan showed a blockage in my liver so have to have a catscan 2 c what's causing that b4 decision can be made. Heart lungs and kidneys fine. Saw dietitian who told me I'm not eating enough need 2 eat 10 points of carbonates at night as liver needs some food to last until morning she gave me a booklet with points and food I need. Anaesthetic consultant said he would say he was happy 2 go for transplant but other people need 2 access my results when all in. Everybody I saw at assessment were fantastic how r u doing x
Hi jojo. I had a thrombus in the portal vein causing a blockage. It wasn't a total blockage and I had to do (or wife did) a heparin injection in my stomach every day to keep the portal vein open from assessment up to transplant. I then had them in hospital after transplant until discharge. Since then I've been on 75mg aspirin a day.
Yeh I’m fine plodding on, wish you could share some energy with me I’m constantly exhausted oh belated birthday wishes hope you had a fantastic time whatever you were doing 🎂 🎁💕
Hiya Kate just wanted to let you know I seen haematology today... They are asking my transplant hospital to take me off aspirin my platelets are 30 lol so I definitely don't need it... They are also checking some other things out so we will see... Hope you're OK my dear 😊 😘
Hi Jojo, thanks for thinking of me and letting me know, as you know I also take aspirin daily but the transplant team said I will be on it for life as I have a small hepatic vein 🤷♀️, how are you keeping, hope you are well, I’m suffering with my 3rd cold since Christmas 😡😡 sneezing is driving me nuts 🥴🤧😷
Hi that is a real corker of a bruise. I usually get them mainly when I bang into my bed or car ha. I have had 1 on my leg that won't leave me.. I am going 2 mention it at my assessment in a few days. X
Have u had liver transplant?. Didn't realise how many things u get ie the bruising loss of appetite feeling sickly etc . Not much fun at times but u just have 2 get on with it. I have some friends coming round hopefully in the next few days who I haven't seen 4 ages (my fault I know ). I know they won't judge my appearance just me being silly. X
Just had another letter regarding my assessment (at least the postman is being kept busy) 1 have 2 have a us doppler ultrasound and abdomen 1 at 12. At this rate I'll be starving no food for 6 hrs prior 2 that my exercise bike starts at 9.15 then heart pads on at 10. Can't wait ha.
I used to bruise pre but they were small and loads.. Its normal pre transplant because your liver is not working properly and your spleen trying to cope with a lot as well..
Good luck with your assessment, where you having it?
I was put on the list Feb 2016 I was then on and off it, ended up in local hospital in July moved to Leeds six weeks later got woken up for first call September didn't go ahead and had it October 11th I was really poorly that's why I was on and off it and why I spent so long in hospital x fingers crossed yours is smoother but most of them are 😊
I think jimmys will be my 2nd home for a while. That's what I can't get my head round being so unwell ur self and the waiting . I suppose they have 2 make sure u get the best outcome as its such a major op. Do u live near Leeds. When I was in having biopsy I met a lovely lady called Jackie and she was my guardian angel. She also lives near me and we have met up 4 lunch ..Take care .x
And to be honest just take it day by day you never know what each day is going to bring so enjoy the good ones and forget the bad ones... Try and do what you can do to get through puzzles, read, music a little hobby
