Hi Sudio, initially I was very itchy but when I was prescribed steroids and the liver flare got a bit better. The itch disappeared too. Hope you find some relief soon.

Hope

Good afternoon Sudio, I am sorry to hear you are struggling with itch- it can be all consuming!

May I suggest you discuss it with your own doctor as they are best placed to prescribe a medication if approriate.

On a practical level, cool loose, natural fibre clothing, well ventilated room, particularly at night and ensuring your skin is well moisturised.

Often having a tepid bath or shower before bed can be soothing and ease symptoms also.

I hope you get some relief soon!

Best wishes

The itch drive's you up the wall, I didn't find any of the medication worked for me, only relief I found was to use a cream called Dream Cream from Lush £15 well spent it at least worked long enough to get to sleep.

Love that LUSH stuff. Brilliant at night because the smell is so soothing and the cream is cooling. Have used LUSH since I was pregnant with my now 16 year old. Not a stretch mark in sight. Then to help with psoriasis (I believe this is linked to my liver issues). Now using for sleep and calm. And psoriasis and the poxy itching!

I used Aveeno cream to help ease my itching. I was also prescribed a powder to mix into a drink - unfortunately I forget the name - I’d apply the cream three or four times per day and it helped me.

Sounds a bit weird I know, but having a bath with a generous dollop of head and shoulders shampoo in it really helps me. Good luck
