Make sure you ask about 6 monthly ultrasound scans and bloods just to continue monitoring. With a diagnosis of cirrhosis (even if your liver is now doing ok) you need to keep an eye on it for any changes.
Tbh I'd rather I was still checked over , even tho I've gave up drinking the cirrosis happened so fast & without warning so I'd be ok with further tests x
Yea it sucks but it's true that even if we regress from a cirrhotic state to a precirrhotic state.. the increased risk of HCC that came along with the cirrhosis never goes away. Plus even if that wasnt true I would want an ultrasound every six months just to keep myself mentally sound that I have not had anything bad happen in that time. I think for me if I never saw a scan again I'd work my brain up so much thinking something is always getting worse inside and never knowing would drive me nuts. If anything hun just get the scans every 6 months for peace of mind ππ
I always thought I needed/wanted appts as a sort of crutch but I'd go crazy if anything happened this far down the line that poss could've been seen earlier.
Plus I have the worst gp in the world (hence why we call him shipman) honest,it's like talking to Scooby doo so it's unlikely he'd pick up or send me anywhere if it was needed.
