My son has bought me some CBD oil as I am in so much pain mainly due to fibromyalgia. I can't take painkillers any more due to my cirrhosis. His girlfriends grandma has very severe rheumatoid arthritis and has been taking the cbt oil and no longer needs her other painkillers. I'm quite nervous about taking it though. I will talk to my consultant before taking it. Have any of you used it?

CBD oil
Hi GrandmaDylan. Sorry you have been in so much pain recently. I don’t think I’ve heard of CBD oil ( what does CBD stand for?) and I think are wise just to double check with your consultant. I know that I am very restricted on painkillers tablet form and also not allowed volterol or anything that you rub into your skin. We are all different though and I know of some people with liver disease that still take strong painkillers. I would be interested to know more. Xx
Hi GrandmaDylan,
Sorry, neither of us have used it, but I have seen it in some stores near us recently, one of them a tobacco store.
I did have a lovely chat at the tobacco store with someone who uses it - she said it helped her get off antidepressants.
I would check with your doctors before using it - it might interfere with other meds you are taking or be bad for your particular conditions.
Best wishes,
Mary
Hello my dear 😘
I use cannabis for sleep and I have used it last few days for a migraine and I was so relieved to be out of pain for a few hours x
CBD oil will have no adverse effects on anything I know lots of used it for many different things all I will say is go to a reputable shop to purchase like Holland and Barrett and they will reassure you in person x
Hi grandma Dylan, I am in the same boat as you, I asked my doctor about cbd oil to help ease my fibromyalgia pain, I too can’t have any pain killers because my liver can’t metabolise them. I was told that there isn’t enough data to support the use of cbd oil and studies have shown that it can have a detrimental effect on cirrhosis. I hope this helps you, sorry to be a killjoy.
Hi GrandmaDylan
We are sorry to read how much pain you are in.
We would always suggest you discuss the use of this with your own liver specialist who is best placed to advise.
