CBD oil

Has anyone got any comments to make regarding CBD oil, in relation to my wife's cirrhosis liver, The reason I ask I have seen an advert on ITV for CBD oil, I have taken the plunge and ordered a dropper bottle, which I chose the 400mg strength in summer berries flavour. I have been taking two drops twice a day under my tongue, as I have an enlarged prostrate which has been causing me problems with peeing, especially during the night. I have to report that I have had a positive improvement in my urge to peeing especially during the night, instead of 4/5 times to only twice. Also I have noticed that my eyesight has improved in relation to eyestrain, with TV & laptop.

It's quite common for people to go in search of a wonder cure. Two things can happen here. Firstly the liver may suffer even more harm as everything, including toxins has to pass through it. The other thing that will happen is your wallet will become smaller. Any company can make bold statements in order to get people to buy their product, and these people are just preying on your weakness at this difficult time.

Once Cirrhosis has been diagnosed, then the liver is unable to repair it's self. A person can live with Cirrhosis as long as they accept curtain life-style changes. If on the other had you wish to continue searching for a wonder cure, and using you wife as a guinea pig, then other conditions could be exacerbated, which in turn could deny her the chance of a transplant. Please be careful here as a little knowledge could be a dangerous thing.

Cmon nothing wrong with a little cbd oil it relaxes and gives me a chilled feeling it's not toxic it's from nature I think there is no problem with cbd but neither do I think it's a wonder cure for any disease other than I think little kids with seizures

Cant get much more "natural" than alcohol!

Nobody knows if CBD is going to help or harm.

It's not going to cure her cirrhosis, but it will help with some of her symptoms .. I use cannabis now post transplant to sleep and I used it pre transplant and the consultants knew and didn't have a problem it's not going to cause any more issues 😊

I'm not sure about the effects it has on the liver. Keep in mind with anything going in the body it is not processed the same way or as well as it is in healthy livers. As I stated in a recent post I think there is alot of research missing on the topic. I'm from Canada and we have recently legalized it so we are finally starting to see useful studies being conducted. But they are still in infancy. When I was in my teens I smoked weed by the bale loads and never had any ill effects. However I also didnt have liver disease back then. So I dont suggest it nor refute it. I simply can say I dont know. But I will say though Soly that regardless of if it is beneficial or not I would check with the specialist team about it simply because they may very well use it as a determining factor for transplant eligibility if the need ever arose. My opinion is to perhaps research it a little more. I mean definitely some of our members use it and it helps them with all sorts of symptoms so it does have benefits that way but also everyone's body also reacts differently.

As far as Febeli57 's comment on it not being toxic as it comes from nature I just cant help myself to point out the fact that most plants on earth are toxic to humans either in the form of simple contact dermatitis or in the poisoned to death form eating a trace amount of it kind LMAO. I have a robust collection of plants in my home and out of the 65 I own all of them are toxic/or poisonous to humans smoked or eaten.

Back to the point though..a little CBD never hurt anyone and I know clearly you are researching to try and help your wife as much as you can and I truly think that's amazing. So again just take a little more time to research it because even though we have alot of experience here in liver disease we cannot tell you to do something Yay or Nay as we lack the medical credentials on the proverbial office wall lol. Good luck and let us know what information you find out along your way.

Best wishes

Hello, I have been using the oil for a good few months now. I have had no side effects and my consultants are aware of my use. I am not advocating that it is “correct” to use the oil, however, I did after some research, make an adult informed choice and began to use it. I have, to date, had no detrimental side effects. I am not advocating that you personally should use it I’m merely sharing my experiences as someone who has. I’m sure that you’re not using your partner as a guinea pig, what an odd phrase to use?

The best of luck in whatever you choose to do.

Cannabis has been kept under wraps for a very long time! Drug companies are fully aware of it medicinal power but it is cheap to produce, their zillions of profits will shrink! It is already legalised for MS. A mother hit the headlines a few months ago because she had been abroad to purchase cbd for her young son. It greatly reduced his massive seizures caused by epilepsy. Amazingly the health secretary wanted information on this, he decided that not only should it be handed back to this mother but also agreed her son needed it! In the US many states have now legalised cannabis. People who use it medicinally for a massive list of conditions are issued with a medical card to enable them to pay less! I asked my pharmacist why Boots didnt sell it, it said it was a grey area as yet. He laughed when I said so heroin type patches you give me, cannabis oil is a NONO? This was 6 months ago. Yep, you can now purchase it from Boots! The problem people dont understand is that some 'skunk is 7 times stronger now than the natural organically grown pot of the 70's. THC is what causes damage to some youngsters, particularly young men under 25. Its knowing which type of plant is used . Some are higher in THC. parents are also buying cbd with low thc. It is curing cancer in their children where modern medicines and treatments have failed. Paracetamol damages our livers. i would happily grow my own plants if I knew which varieties are low thc and know that it cannot do more damage than all the treatments for arthritis does. Research is ongoing now to verify the benefits of cannabis for a variety of conditions. It has been known for decades it is a drug/plant that cures . The drops have evolved into a steady trickle. In a couple of years the floodgates will be open, reducing the massive costs to the NHS, money that at present goes on very inflated priced meds! I have cirrhosis thanks to scripted meds. I have never broken any law, however I am seriously considering growing weed. I have a god knowledge of drugs, I had to do for my job. I know Im safe from hep B too, as I had to have the triple course, also for my job. The damage done to many people I worked with was due to what drugs were laced with. From gravy mix to concrete! I have visited Amsterdam several times. There were very few fighting drunks , the vast majority were yes, Brits! Coffee Shops didnt cause it. I will ask my consultant in a few weeks, One organ even more sensitive in the body is the brain. MS is a brain disorder, CBD is prescribed? A very grey area re CBD then
