I got a letter today with an appointment for yet another gastroscopy this Saturday morning. This will be my third since july last year. That's on top of 2 CT'S with contrast, an MRI, a capsule endoscopy, a colonoscopy and a liver biopsy. I'm sick of constantly being at the hospital. I've got two appointments this week 😢 sorry for the depressing post. Deb

Another gastroscopy
Hi

I feel you grandma D 😒 I'm tired now too, I think mine will taper off soon though, I hope yours do too, you just get tired of being messed with. I've 2 on same day next week, elastography in Wakefield am and leeds consultant pm, thankful mine are not invasive, just a general ball ache to get to. Wishing you good results. Stacie. Xxxx
Wishing you the same Stacie. I've had two appointments on the same day. Hepatologist first then Gastroscopy but fortunately at the same local hospital. I also had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy at the same time...who knew life was so much fun 😵 xx
I too wish you all the best GrandmaDylan. I remember having gastroscopy and colonoscopy at the same time in 2010! Definitely exciting stuff! Lol . I was lucky only colonoscopy last December!
My fingers are crossed you get sorted soon ! Loved Phoenix's 3D comment !
Take Care

For Goodness Sake ! What Can They Possibly Not Be Seeing With All You Have Already Had Done ?
What is it they are looking for with all that ? Jesus GrandmaD they are going to be able to make a fully accurate 3D model of you soon !
Hahaha 😂😂😂
If you care to share, are they trying to diagnose or fix something for you, Deb? I hope you can get anesthesia. I cannot handle these types of procedures without being knocked out! Kudos to you for bravely facing all these hospital visits. xx
When the cirrhosis was first diagnosed I was referred to the general medicine team and put on the non urgent waiting list. When I found out that it would be a minimum of a 20 week wait I tried to find a hepatologist that had a private practice. I was told that no hepatologists work privately so I made an appointment with a gastroenterologist. He then put me on his nhs list and booked various tests ie the capsule endoscopy and my second gastroscopy. He found gastritis and a bleeding duodenal ulcer plus problems at the top of my stomach including possible ischemia. To be honest he is much more interested in my bowel not my liver.
You most definitely have gone from famine to feast! Makes you wonder if someone has realised just how you were messed about and not attended to? When I hear people say I want to do this or that when I retire I say do it now! It feels sometimes like having a part time job. A 3 week gap would e good. No appointments? Truly hope they will ease up on you soon, Holiday insurance is megabucks but fitting a holiday in is nigh on impossible for you . Fingers crossed they will have everything they need very soon. Plus you start to feel better as well. x
Wow that is a lot to be having in a short space of time. I’ve not been on here very much over last few weeks so may have missed something but I hope they find whatever it is they are looking for and you get the answers you need. It’s been a long haul for you so I hope they get you sorted out xx
Julia! I was wondering where you have been. Hadn't seen you comment in a while. How ru?
Hi I’m ok. How are you? I’ve been struggling recently with tiredness and infection. Had no energy but sleeping still shit. All part of this wonderful disease. I have popped on occasionally but haven’t been able to find and engage brain long enough to write sensible reply’s😂. Hopefully back on the up. Hope you’re keeping well Phoenix. Take care xx
Oh no well I hope your on the up as well! I have caught every damn cold flu and lung infection available in 100 km span of where I live this winter. Ugh good old immune system eh? Glad to know your still fighting the good fight tho! Xx 🙂
Never give up the fight. My daughter ( and hubby) need me up and cheerful 😀. Sounds like you’ve had your fair share of everything this winter as well. Immune system is pants. Take care x
Well I went for my gastroscopy at 9.15 this morning, they filled in all the forms and cannulated me. I went into the theater where the diagnostitan? went through them again but asked if I'd had previous gastric surgery to whicj I said yes. She then went out to talk to a doctor who said it would have to be done by gastroenterologist. I then had my cannula removed and came home. What a waste of time and resources. The last gastroscopy I had in December was done by my gastroenterologist, so why didn't they check who was needed? I nearly didn't go for the proceedure as I've got a streaming cold and got no sleep at all last night but when I rang the unit to ask if I should still come I was told yes. Fuming 😒😣
