Hi, my scar is gown my chest and across to my tight. I keep meaning to ask my consultant why I was fortunate to to not have the Mercedes scar. Do any of you guys have the same scar as mine and have asked the question that I keep forgetting to ask. Come on Alf help me out here 👌🏼

All the scars are tight for a good few months it's awful having the Mercedes as a woman with big boobs I couldn't wear a bra for a year 😂😂😂

It's a straight across cut on the chest from left to right and then a little down ... If you go to my profile have a look down my posts you will see a pic of before and after x

Found it jojo. Yours is much higher. is that the cut that they do for women? seems sensible if so, you could still wear a bikini without scar being visible!

I’m sorry but you guys at cracking me up at 5:15am after a painful procedure on my lower back.
As we’re on the subject of scars, I have a bullet hole on my right tummy where my Ileostomy used to be. Plus a very busy motorway system after 30 plus surgeries and surgical procedures.
I have so many hip to hip motorways with only one exit; which if you miss, will put you on a one way system to pick up your violin🎻, meet your maker, choose a fluffy cloud (☁️ or⛅️ ), relax on the cloud and play tuneless music. 😂 👼 🎻

If I don’t laff I will cry my eyes 👀 out and end up with an almighty migraine. Then I will get angry with all the other annoying inanimate objects in my house and lie in ambush ready to tear my long suffering Carer; limb from limb. I wonder why she hasn’t quit. They don’t usually last this long.... 🤔🤨 I wonder what she’s got planned for me 😂😂

Oh I have never noticed it was that much higher to be honest I don't know a lot of women with the Mercedes cut either most people seem to have a lexus
I did joke with the surgeon just before my transplant, I said "This is going to be keyhole surgery isn't it?" He had a good laugh and it certainly lightened the moment!

Might be possible one day. They could suck out the sick liver then pump in some sort of memory liquid made from your own stem cells that solidifies and takes the shape of the old liver... Boom! Been watching too much Sci-Fi I know 😅

They are actually working on ideas right now with the hopes of getting the liver to repair itself, I dare say that it will happen. Just look how technology has come on in the last 50 years. Certainly 50+ years ago none of us would have stood a chance! The good thing is (for medical science anyway) technology is moving faster and faster!

I love my Mercedes! All images I'd seen online prior to having it done were like that too. Could say I'm obsessed with symmetry. I used to think the Lexus was only for living donors.

I thought all of the scars were Mercedes style pre transplant? In fact for a few days after I wasn’t convinced that I actually had been transplanted, but that’s another sorry.................😂

I have a Lexus. Before Jojo showed her scar on here I didn’t realise there were different sorts. I think Lexus is the standard one in France. I can imagine the nuisance for a woman having the Mercedes as mine, which starts just between my boobs, was annoying enough for bras.

I have the Lexus and i am female so I don't think it is down to gender. I think it is the surgeon's preference on how they do the operation. Oh and I have no problem wearing a bikini as I am proud of my scar, it saved my life. Any way now got an appendix scar to join it. Be able to play 0 & X soon. Lol 🤣🤣
Mine is a large upside down T. From my bra line to just above my belly button they did it that way for both transplants and the one across my tummy was from a baby so that’s been done 3 times xx I thought oh wow how big? But now I’m just proud and thankful xx

Yes Iv had two liver transplants in 2016 and a kasai procedure 31 years ago x

I was also wondering about this, how they decide. I now think it depends on which incision was taught to the surgeon and which one he feels comfortable with but might be totally wrong. Also, the size of the transplanted organ and the type of procedure. Welcome to the mercedez club
