That's one neat scar!! Hmm, bio oil, that's maybe something that I should give a go. I forget to put any moisturising cream on and then complain to the wife if the scar stings, lol
Is it a neat scar?I wouldn’t know as it not something you see usually lol I think I was lucky as it healed while in the QE. I left with no dressings.
Believe me that is one very neat scar! When it eventually fades I expect it will look like a very thin silver line.
Have you seen the advert on tv for the heart foundation we’re the young boy shows the scar from a heart op.if it turns out as well I’ll be well pleased but I wouldn’t keep it covered up either if it didn’t .just another battle scar from life lol
Fantastic clean looking scar, fingers crossed the rest of your recovery continues to go as well as that incision has healed.
Katie
You heal from the inside out so the best thing you can do is eat protein, protein and more protein 😊 I didn't use anything on mine and 2 years down the line it's barely visible and yours looks as good as mine did at that stage
Personally I think bio oil is a con
That’s what my first thought was .but my daughter gave it me so couldn’t refuse really also I’m not to keen on putting oil on a scar that’s trying to heal itself.
Can I ask you something.seeing as you mentioned protein did you carry on losing muscle post op.although my weight is about 12 stone I seem to be still losing muscle mass .
Yes I didn't get back to my "normal weight" for at least a year and then it piled on in 6 months and about six months ago I had to lose it again lol I went over board with the goodies I hadn't eaten for 3 years lol
Wow that is a tidy scar and looks to be healing well.
I've used bio oil during and after both my pregnancies and think that's why I have minimal stretch marks, which now are very faint. Or maybe I just was very lucky 😀. I still use it for my "crows feet" and think it keeps them at bay!!
Anyway, I wish you all the best in your full recovery.
Looks good won’t be long until it’s barrly noticeable 👍❤️😉
A great looking scar, mine was still weeping in one or two minor places at your stage.
I hope all goes well at your check up
Scar looks to be healing well when I go for a swim i dont half get some looks hope it all goes well
Bio oil is awesome I’m just over 1 year PT and still use it now, I never want my scar to totally disappear as I’m so proud of it and it’s a daily reminder of how thankful I am to my donor family and the outstanding team of people at QEH
Your scar's looking great Popel! Up and onwards you go! Keep 😁😁😁😁
Best wishes Trishi
You got a good surgeon, your scar is perfect and healing very nicely. Bio oil does work for scars but it will take a while before you start noticing anything 😊
Wow! That's amazing how quickly your healing 😊. I healed quickly also and never used any thing? Like me you I have a Lexus scar. If you're conscious about it then don't be as it's part of your story of where you were, what you've been through and how you've triumphed. I wish you well in your recovery and keep posting as the fellas on here are like family and we'd all be genuinely interested in how you are doing.
I’ve used it since my stitches came out and my consultant was very pleased with it, I would say stick with it
Hi Popel,
I don't have experience with transplant scars as my husband still has his original liver, but my Mother had several scars from heart surgeries and yours is right up there with her nicer looking ones.
Some surgeons are more particular about their sewing than others, and of course it helps if nothing interferes with the healing.
So use something to keep it supple while it finishes healing and bravo to who ever did your sewing.
Best wishes,
Mary
It's looking good
It looks far more better than it did when you first posted and even then it was a very clean scar. 🙂
