Hi, I have posted earlier regarding pain in my upper right side, also my history of alcohol.
Anyway yesterday I had a ultrasound at my local hospital. They said my GP would have the results in about a week. The next day (today) I had a call from reception at my doctors today requesting a telephone consultation, this coming Monday, with my GP, to discuss the results. Bloods tests have been fine.
So should I be worried?

Hi I have just joined and get a bit perplexed with everything but can offer my experience in the hope that it helps. It might be they have found some change in your liver but because your bloods are ok it might not be too significant at this point. I had an ultrasound last December as I have cirrhosis and ascites at that time. I was called in the by the gp and told they found what they thought was cancer. I had high cancer markers in bloods but a ct and mri did not reveal a mass. My bloods seem not to have these high markers in April and a June mri revealed no changes. I have an ultrasound next week and hope that will go well. This might sound alarmist but I started the year thinking I had cancer, not sure of the future but almost a year on this does not seem to be the case. So try not to worry too much, it may well not be too serious and even with something more serious it's not always as bleak as it might seem. Wishing you well for Monday.
Got the call from my GP late this afternoon. Slightly fatty liver. Gall bladder , spleen, pancreas and aorta all okay. Small cyst on right kidney, which could be giving me the discomfort I am experiencing below right rib cage. GP will speak to urologist regarding that. So all round relief. thank you for your concern.
Hi Bazh,
I don't know where you live, so my answer is based on the USA.
A phone consult could be to clear up something - if there was something really serious I would think the doctor would have you come in or have you go to an Emergency Room.

Hello there. That's so good, I'm really pleased for you. Kidney problems can be very painfull. Years ago my late father suffered from what was referred to as a polyp or wart on his kidney which caused a lot of pain and blood in his water. He was packed off to Leeds for a couple of weeks but had no medical intervention. It settled down in time without any invasive treatment so I hope that could be the you. Take care.
