My fiancé is 90 days sober today (yay!!) feels great besides being tired more than usual, it looks like the jaundice is gone except for the corners of his eyes. The other night, after standing in one place singing for 3 hours straight (it’s one of his hobbies) his feet swelled and I freaked out of course. He slept with them propped up and they were fine the next day. Tonight, after doing groceries and running around and then eating a huge Cesar salad with a whole chicken breast and then a few cookies for dessert, I noticed his belly was swollen (bloated?) but also his feet are a bit swollen. He’s also had pain in his left ribs for a few days but it’s much better today. He thinks he pulled a muscle rearranging his office and putting a table together. It hurt when he would take a deep breath, move, or push on the area that was sore. I know that you guys can’t answer medical questions and we should see a doctor but he doesn’t have a GP yet, the GI doctor is only in his office a couple days a week and doesn’t want to see him until August, and we are still waiting to hear from the hepatologist he was referred to. Am I freaking out over nothing? If it’s not better tomorrow I told him that we are going to the ER, I don’t care if he likes it or not. I’m worried it’s his pancreas now too. Have any of you had something similar happen? Sorry for the jumbled long mess, I’m worried sick.

Hey there!

Ive been through the same with myself. It could be something or nothing. Its always best to be alert and on top of "things" so yes if in any doubt always go to your doctor or to the ER.

My very best wishes to you both for a happy, healthy and positive future x

We would suggest that your fiancée is seen by a doctor so that they can assess his symptoms.

Wishing you both well,

Thank you all! His feet aren’t swollen today and his bloating has went down, he said he’s constipated today (sorry for the tmi). I’m going to keep a close eye on him. I freak out easily so thank you for your patience with me.

Stay calm sweetheart, he's been dry for 90 days, there will be some ups and downs and hiccups along the way and always get your concerns checked out. But everyday is another day towards a happier healthy future.... enjoy it and embrace it together.

All the best to you both.

Much love

Thank you so much Laura. Your comment made me cry and also helped me think a bit more rationally. The constant worry is getting to me. I broke down at his last appointment and told the doctor I was so scared of waiting for the other shoe to drop. He said “what other shoe?” and smiled, so I have to remind myself of that often. I need a chill pill in a bad way haha thank you again SO much ♥️♥️♥️
