Worried : Can some please explain these... - British Liver Trust
Worried
Although you arn't meant to put results up for comment & admin will probably jump in at some point. What is clear from those is that your ALP is normal, and you are negative for AMA (Anti Mitochondrial Antibody) these are two of the things that would appear to rule out PBC.
A definitive diagnosis of PBC is established in a patient who has all three of the following:
- Cholestatic liver tests (alkaline phosphatase and ggt elevated more than ALT and AST).
- AMA positive at a titer of greater than or equal to 1:40.
- Diagnostic or compatible liver biopsy.
Only elevated things are your GGT and ALT - from reading back you have a previous diagnosis of fatty liver disease plus diabetes and other underlying conditions.
Doctors may well have to do some further follow up to see why your inflammation markers are raised.

Well that’s good he’s not too concerned and at least now you know what you’re dealing with and your anxiety should lessen. I’ll have to keep waiting. I’ll let you know when I know . Keep in touch.
Welcome to the forum where you will be able to get advice and support from others with experience of liver disease. However, this is not a medical forum and none of the members are qualified to diagnose or give specific medical advice.
Users are advised to NOT post test results, scans or photos and request an interpretation from other members. This is clearly stated in the guidelines to both this forum and Health unlocked. Test results vary according to both the individual’s whole health and the specific laboratory / medical team analysing the results. To avoid misinterpretation and undue concerns, results can only properly be understood by a qualified medical practitioner with full knowledge of your unique medical history and circumstances.
Please don’t be discouraged from using the forum as there are members with a great deal of understanding and knowledge of living with liver disease as a patient or carer. They will be able to give you the benefit of that experience with understanding and empathy that can only come from those with first hand involvement.
On the British Liver Trust website you will find a great deal of information about liver disease / health from trusted sources.

Can you perhaps call your GP about your results today?
Keep us posted.
Looks like you've already had the "dont post test results" message, lol.
None of us here are medically qualified so nothing we say should be taken as advice in any way. However, Katie has given you some pretty good interpretation already and I would concur with what she has posted. If there was PBC then I too would've expected to see a rise in ALP which fortunately doesn't look to be the case.
You also have a raised CRP, which can be a general indicator of inflammation.
You're clearly already an interesting patient for your medical team with few conditions they are trying to manage. Its not unusual in those cases for some medications to be a little disagreeable with the liver. It may well be as simple as that, but I'm sure your medical team will investigate that further.
Hopefully it will be something that simple. Good luck to you.
