Hi, do you have any known liver issues at all?
Sounds like you've probably strained your side with coughing. I've done this before and it can be very painful.
Clear phlegm would usually imply that there is no infection. Perhaps it's an allergy causing your cough?
As always, best to ask your doctor if you are concerned.

Garyvh, I used to have a terrible cough for a few months until finally my GP thought it could be caused by my hypertension tablets. She's changed my tablest and within a few days the cough was gone. Are you on any high blood pressure tablets?
Hi Fan234
Do you have a liver condition?
If you have had a long term cough you may want to visit your GP's who will be able to examine and assess you.
Best wishes

If you've had a cough for 12 weeks you need to see your GP anyway. I too have just got a cough and have had it now for about a week. I too am a bit sore on the right side of my abdomen. I am though pretty sure that's just the coughing and the strain it puts on the muscles in that area.
My husbands been coughing for months and months, seems to be with his condition. ALD. Hospital aren't concerned about it, and he has had X-rays .
Clear phlem means no infection. If you get a lot of it then see a doctor about it. You probably hurt yourself coughing. Go get a blood test and put a spot sample in. If you smoke then stop as that will be causing the cough and get tested for lung cancer.
Go to the doctor, phlegm colour is “not a diagnostic tool” as a G.P. Once told me .
Myself and everyone else on this site are not doctors .

All my lung specialists have said it is.
