8 month Soberversary!

It's my 8 month Soberversary today 😀

Not that I'm counting, just that the 11th is, unfortunately, indelibly imprinted on my mind as the date I was hospitalised with Alc Hep.

My GP sent me to A&E that day, and later on the practice nurse let on to me that neither she or the GP would ever see me again. Game over for me, they thought.

But here I am, 8 months later, still sober and feeling not exactly great, but a lot better than I did ☺

Honestly, if I can do it anyone can.

Garyvh, that's really fantastic news. Sometimes I think it's good to keep counting, as it's a reminder of just how far you've come. It seems as though your liver is beginning to forgive you and is no doubt working hard to repair it's self. If you were to go back to how bad you were say 10-months ago, and compare it to how you are now, then this should give you that incentive to look to the future and never look back. Really well done Garyvh.

Great achievement mate. Don’t forget why you stopped drinking and just keep on doing what you are doing. Coming up 16 years myself, own everything and every drink I ever had. Stopping was the best decision I ever made. Well done

My liver disease was alcohol related and understand what you are saying.

Always good when we can serve as an example of how there can be life without alcohol.

Well done mate ! That's a fantastic achievement ! 👍😀 I'm glad when people post about their success in kicking the booze into touch. I think that it shows others that are struggling with beating their addiction that it can be done and is so worthwhile - not just for themselves but also their loved ones. I'm 30 months dry and I can only say that things get easier with time. I don't have any cravings at all, in fact the very thought of it is now repellant to me. I wish you all the best for the future, stay strong and take care.

CONGRATS and GREAT JOB! A candy bar more satisfying then alcohol anyway. Cant say the same here but once again gave up alcohol and going on week 4, wohoo haha
