Hello,

I am 39 years old man, last year due to some medicine reaction accidentally my GP discovered very high Gamma GGT 534, AST 51 and ALT 83, this is there from last one year, I never drink alcohol and also quite healthy, I have gone through MR scan and sonography but as per my GP everything looks fine to him, also have no health issue as such, my GP suggested for liver biopsy , could someone please give their exp if they have gone through similar sitution, i am very scared due to this.

Thanks.

My results have been high for over ten years, had all the scans plus a liver biopsy, no cause found. I'm just monitored with yearly blood tests.

All you can do is get the all the tests done and go from there. Good luck.

Hi, i used to have a problem with my joints so was prescribed diclofenac (voltarol) to deal with the inflammation. Unfortunately i had a reaction to that. All my LFTs went wayward and was showing signs of acute liver injury (brown urine etc etc). Stopped taking it and everything went back to normal. However, i found that even taking more milder anti inflammatory meds, e.g. ibuprofen, my LFTs would raise. I therefore had to stop taking any, which returned the blood tests back to around their normal ranges.

(PS - it wasn't the meds that resulted in my transplant. I'd stopped those way before i started showing any signs of liver disease. That was completely unrelated in my case).
