Air Travel to India

Hi everybody - hope you all had a good Christmas. I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help me with:

My gastro man okayed my flight to India some months ago. However, a recent blood test showed that my platelets are very low and this morning I had a slight bleed from both nostrils (again). Also I was originally diagnosed with "mild portal hypertension". My concern is the cabin pressure during the 9/10 hour flight. Need I worry about this? Also, does anyone have any ideas re increasing platelet count through diet/vitamins etc?

Secondly, I know Indian food is high in salt. I normally take rehydration salts while I'm there but suppose it would be unwise to do this now? Btw we're there for 9 weeks.

Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.
