Worried about my husband

He just had his first banding today. 5 done without complication. Dr serious he would have chest pain, which my husband says is horrible. My concern is.. he had been vomiting. Dr gave him compazine suppositories but they are not working. Now he has dry heaves and there is blood in it. Not a lot just when he spits it is bloody. He wants to wait but I'm afraid he's popping a band.

I would be tempted to get a follow up on this - even a phonecall to department where they carried out procedure. There could be a potential bleed from varices although my hubby had one endoscopy where he had some damage from the banding implement and this resulted in him vomitting a lot and having a minor bleed from the throat are where tool had cut him a bit. My hubby had 42 varices banded over a 2 year period and only on that one occasion had any bleeding (other than his first massive upper GI bleed).
