I am 61, diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis with cirhoses and coeliac disease same time ten years ago. Was able to reduce dose of prednisoline within first few months and was on just maintenance dose of 5 mg for about five years. Last year started having flares and pred raised and started on Azathioprine meds. Still so so tired, doc thinks could have fibro/cfs as well now!!

Anyone else on here with similar problems? Xx

When you have one auto-immune illness (you already have two) it is highly likely to have others along with it and many folks on the Auto-Immune Hepatitis Facebook page have several. I don't know how medics would tell whether you had fibromyalgia and/or chronic fatigue syndrome on top of flaring AIH as the symptoms are so very similar and it could well just be your AIH and cirrhosis causing joint/muscle pain issues and chronic fatigue.

Thank you very much, Ayreshirek. My lfts at the moment look fine, no sign of a flare, but I know from past experience blood tests don't tell the whole story. I had Ilya sound liver scan last week so see what the results of that are! Thanks again

You'll find lots of information about all these conditions on the following pages and through doing web searches.

Auto-Immune Hepatitis :- britishlivertrust.org.uk/li...

Cirrhosis:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/li...

Fibromyalgia:- nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibromyal...

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) / myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) :- nhs.uk/Conditions/Chronic-f...

AIH, Fibromyalgia & ME/CFS share a lot of common symptoms and as auto-immune conditions it isn't uncommon that a person with one also has others.

Hope that anwers your queries Lynne.

All the best, Katie :)
