hello all!

just wanted to share this. My nurse practitioner has been able to find me monies to have a nurse come in and help me. My partner kept missing work during my HE episodes, so Sophie found out different options. Its only taken 2 months or so, and Ill be getting an allowance which I can hire and pay the nurses from. How great is that? Shes also the nurse who got me an air mattress, then a foam one, special chairs, etc.

Just thought it might also help some of you with ongoing HE problems.

Social Services came and assessed me, then handed me back to NHS, who are funding me. It covers 42 hours of paid help each week, and even if I am not ill, the nurse/aide can come and sit with me, take me shopping etc, to encourage my quality of life. Hope this helps someone else!

cheering all of you on!

kimberly

ps Ive included a photo of one of my Christmas Boxes! Hope you like it! XXXX

Brilliant news.

Like you said, hope others take note and realise that if you ask you might get the help you need.

Also, its always good to take the weight off the so often forgotten carers.

Thanks,

Jim

im so pleased to hear that your getting the help and support that you need. It will take a lot of strain from you and keep your immune system just that bit better. As there is nothing worse than stress and worries to make us ill. It was also good of you to post this as it lets others see that there is help and its also possible to get that help. im happy to hear about your air mattress im sure you will get a much more comfortable sleep.i do like your christmas box, do you make them? wishing you well kimberly. sending love and hugs to you. god bless you. love grace xoxoxo💐

Hi grace, actually I make the boxes and all kinds of other art. I design in 3D also, and sell those designs to crafters around the world.

I also do graphic design and advertising. It keeps me busy and allows me to work from home. When I'm really feeling bad I'm not under any pressure from work, like I used to be. I owned a company before I got sober, and then was getting my PhD in anthropology after I got sober and sold my company.

One thing I hate about being so ill is the lack of energy, and that feeling of being worthless a, so I still do what I can and that seems to help!

Yr right about stress. Stress actually can bring on HE episodes, so keeping it low key is important!

Thx again!

Kimberly

Oh and ps. I no longer use a special bed. I just needed those when I was getting drained every ten days. I was always in a lot of pain in my belly. They would drain up to 21 liters of fluid two or three times a month, and I needed the air mattered to help move my body because otherwise I would get still, not moving, and when I did more a regular mattress was way to hard!

But now, finally my partner and I are sleeping together in the same room, and we bough a beauty ful new bed to celebrate! Lol

Dear Kimberley,

You are such a lovely person and you helped me so much in my worst hours of grief. Just wanted to tell you that I am on an access course for Art and Design. It's extraordinary how the little things turn into bigger things. Last week I did Viscomm graphic design and my project is of the strategies I used to help the grief and you dear Angel lady were the initiator and your words therapy to my heart. I'll never forget your humanity and I admire your courage and attitude. You are my heroine! xxxxxx🤗🤗🤗
