Hi robbymax

We are sorry to read that you and your wife have been unwell.

No one on the forum is medically trained to advise you. We would suggest that you contact your own doctor or NHS111 to discuss your symptoms and concerns so they can help.

Very best wishes

There is literally no way to know for sure if you had the virus unless you get tested. If you’ve had it then there will antibodies in your immune system that will show up on an antibody test.

There did seem to be a sickness bug going around in December that shared a lot of the same symptoms as Covid-19, so it is a possibility that it was in the country before we even knew about it. A rapper called Meek Mill says he is sure he had the virus in December because he had heavy coronavirus symptoms, but obviously because no one knew about it everyone was just saying it was a flu.

But yeah, no one on here can tell you. Could have been the virus, or could have just been the flu. A lot of people are getting flu like symptoms and automatically thinking they have the virus when there is the possibility that it could just be the common flu.

Have you called 111?

You need to apply for testing. But if symptoms have gone it will be too late.

Antibody tests can be taken even after symptoms have gone because of you have the antibodies then you’ve already had the virus and are therefore immune to it.

There have been a few cases of people in China getting the virus twice but it’s now been confirmed that these were diagnosis mistakes and that you can’t actually get it twice.

There is at present no proof that you can't catch the virus twice

They actually did conduct a study in China “apparently” proving that you can’t catch it twice, the people that reported catching it twice were actually misdiagnosed.

However I don’t think China can be trusted at all at this point, so the validity of this study is 50/50

I wouldn't trust or believe anything that comes from China. We need a much more reputable source of proof which we don't yet have

Agree.... China can not be trusted!

I don't think anyone has proved anything yet, corona viruses are constantly mutating and they are seeing now that this one is no different. The antibody tests are unreliable due to these mutations.

I say we all just fuck off to an island in the middle of no where and wait for this to all be over, who’s with me?

Cristiano Ronaldo has the right idea

WHO stated otherwise last month

What did they say?

in reply toUplight99

I googled it. I'll try to find it again. Having trouble adding link(s). Try googling - "can you catch coronavirus or COVID twice WHO", or similar. Bloomberg has an article amongst others.

I misread your post the first time. My apologies. That is also what I've read.

Why would you not believe where it originated? Wet markets in China !

Their crap cheep clothing and furnishing imported and sold by next at hugely inflated prices. Maybe now we may bring back our own manufactoring industry to supply our own country with quality items again. PPE from Turkey .... arrived late, not the complete order and most of it was way below standard. I am making scrubs for the NHS voluntarily and l can't tell you how proud l am to stitch "MADE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM" labels in them

in reply toLaura009

More countries should be doing that and great! Made in our own countries! Boost our own economies.

I feel for them ... they are being exploited. India too. They produce goods for export. £140 per month a married couple recieve between them and again the standard is very poor but the markup in the shops is immense.

Exactly the same as me ...I was just like you and still have to use my inhaler . January was awful for me . My cough was something else !! Never had anything like it in my life ..

in reply tojuejue69

One of our children told me in early February that he had never felt so sick and the headaches were worse than the migraines he sometimes suffers with. Another family member could barely catch her breath so was tested (and under major quarantine instructions while awaiting the results). Fortunately, it was not COVID. I had a sore throat for 8 days in a row, it went away, came back for a few, .... my guess is that many of us have had it (will never be tested) but also there are some other things out there affecting us like my husband's allergies being worse than ever. I have COPD, so I have also ensured that I am taking my inhalers regularly now, in the event. This is all such a nightmare. I worry about our kids and theirs. Most should be okay though. We might be a bit concerned right about now, though, about the number of parents not having their children vaccinated against the normal, can be controlled things. I understand their trepidation about going in to clinics for the shots right now but this could get more out of hand. It might be time for that msg to be spread a little wider and louder.
