hi i have pbc and have had it a very long time. my bloods etc have been stable until this last year. from about 6 months ago they've started changing.... bilirubin went to 20 and has gradually crept up since. at about 30something there was a little bit of yellow.. only just though. now at level 45 you can see it and a bit in my eyes.
due to other issues as well i am being assessed for transplant. hope that helps please feel free to to ask more. cazer.
Not sure on my levels but my first symptom that I took notice of was my eyes and skin around my eyes going yellow. That was August time 2016. I have yellow days and not so yellow days. I'm still being accessed as to when I'll need a transplant so am waiting to be waiting.
I have noticed the same, some days i look more yellow than others - good to know it does fluctuate
I've been jaundice for about 3 years, when diagnosed I was around 50, worst it's been was 280, I've been every shade of yellow, nearly number coloured at one point, it does come and go a little, certain lighting makes it look worst, also depends on your complexion.
Bilirubin is a level used to calculate your ukeld score, but there are other factors which complete the ukeld score. Once mine cleared 140 the consultants started to get on with assessment for transplant, especially as it got there very quickly. I did post a good little video on here that explained what bilirubin was and why it was there.
