Do you have liver problems as well or is it just gallbladder?

I was told removal does not alway get rid of the problem, because the stones develipe in the liver, so realy should be named liver stones, so removal of the gallbladder does not mean you cannot get them again, the only time when it is inprtant that the gallbladder should be removed, is if it gets infected, you will know them the pain is undecribeable, i know the doctors say it is a straight forward operation, mostly it is, i know of 2 cases where the outcome has put these people in wheelchairs permantly, if you do decide to have them removed, look around for a good surgeon in this field, word of mouth or hospital success, i have the same problem, until there is no other option, it is stopping where it is, i to have got acidity, which is realy bad, at this moment i am taking 150mg 2x daily Ranitidine which hopefully keep it not as bad, i tried Omeprazole 20mg 2x daily but did not work for me, horse for courses some meds suit some people some don't . good luck

If you look into the crystal ball you know it is only going to get worse what do we have doctors for if not to advise on health problems why waste the doctors time and your own if you won't take that advice I learnt the hard way like you could do rushed into hospital with unbelievable pain and the discomfort I say its not worth it sorry to be so blunt with you but these alternative solutions do not work my surgeon laughed at me in amazement at what I had tried in the hope of curing myself best of luck you did ask for suggestions

I had mine whipped out; piece of cake. I suffered from nausea for a month or two after the operation as my system adjusted, but it seems fine now. Get the operation. You won't believe the pain if you get a nasty attack. A friend of mine has had babies and gallstones and says that the pain is equivalent (her words, not mine)

I had my gallbladder removed as an emergency I woke up in excruciating pain and was really sick, I had three stones with the smallest stone having moved, down the duct causing pain, my surgeon couldn't understand how I had gone without noticing something was wrong, I had keyhole but surgeon was seconds away from cutting me open as he could not get the large stone Broken up to get it out, I was left in agony because of internal bruising, with a simple OP that should have taken an hour I was in theatre for 4hours, I know this sounds horrendous, but it could have been worse, if your doctor is recommending it , l would go for it before they get any bigger. I most sertainly would have had it done sooner if I had known.
