This is the final post for September’s quest! Congratulations to everyone who has been part of this month’s quest, whether that was dropping in and out or questing all month. You are all legends!

This is an opportunity to look back over the month and celebrate what’s gone well for you. October’s Quest, hosted by the lovely  Yesletsgo , will be starting in a few days. I always like a bit of time to think about my goals so as well as nearly crossing finish line, you’re nearly at the next starting line. Why not take some time and look forwards as well as backwards? It’s an exciting place to be with lots of fun ahead!

I’ve had a really good month. Not the month I was expecting but lots of positives to report. I was aiming to be ready for a 10k race, which I did and I loved. The photo I’ve chosen is from the start line and that was easily the best day all September!

I’ve been trying to find three runs a week but life and a ridiculous injury got in the way. That’s definitely going to be part of next month’s quest. I’ve got another 10km race next month and I’d love to have done a few more long runs before the day. Because I’ve been short of time. I’ve been doing more shorter and faster runs. All month I had “find a new plan to follow” and I haven’t managed it for either strength or running! Next month I am definitely going to tick that goal off. I’m thinking of having a go at a new 5km PB. I’m going to have some fun browsing!

The massive positive from this month is I’ve finally got back to running comfortably and enjoying it. Long may that continue!

So…September ended up being pretty good for me. Things achieved and things still to achieve. How have things gone for you? What are you thinking of doing next month? What’s the biggest win from this quest?

Can’t wait to hear from you!

MissU x

ps: here are the month’s posts if you’d like to look back…

You've had a really great September in so many ways. Looking back at my progress I realise how far I've come in the month 😁 I'm looking forward to October and hope to be able to extend my walks and run intervals

Thank you and right back at you! It’s amazing what can change in four weeks and you’ve taken some big steps forwards. Here’s hoping October is a great month for you!

I have a third treatment in October and apparently that should make a huge difference, also my tapering steroid dose finishes in 3 weeks so some of my fatigue should fade with that, I'm hopeful for a good month 😊 but if nothing changes I continue to get stronger just by moving more 😁 and am back to being independent with all aspects of life

Those are brilliant goals. Really hoping the treatment goes well ❤️

Well done on a fantastic month Miss Understanding 👏. This week 10k run 40 minutes run that was over 5k from the NRC and today pacer at parkrun that topped a great week in a 20k distance altogether.

Next week I'm hoping to carry on with the runs and keep upping the distance and not worry about times.

Only downside I've started with a cold this afternoon hoping it's just a sniffle.

Thank you for hosting and well done everyone I've included the photo from parkrun I'm pacer 32

I'm pacer 32 so proud about this

Thank you! Great month for you too. Running as a pacer sounds fun-I’ve only been at one parkrun with them and it was really nice treat. I’m sure you were well appreciated! Fingers crossed the cold doesn’t come to anything and wishing you a happy October’s questing!

Well done!!! What a great picture of your 10k race … and look at that blue sky!

I had a pretty good run on this month as well, including:

⭐️ C25k: finished!!!! Two of the three C25k+ runs completed. Only the Stamina run to still do. And then 10k plan.

⭐️ I started 5k Rowing plan (training to be faster with my 5ks), 3 runs down and they felt great! Tomorrow morning is a community row of 45 minutes and look forward to this. I’m also dreaming of pudding a rowing rig on a paddle board, and taking rowing outside, but it’s quite expensive. But one can dream!

⭐️ I’ve managed to do a few, not quite daily, Tibetan Rites , 7 reps. And I’m getting better at them.

⭐️ and started standing at my standing desk again.

Big one for next month: I want to increase my daily walking but have yet to find a strategy to fit it all in.

Happy running and working out!

Woo hoo!!! Graduation is always worthy of massive celebration. I bet it’ll be a super springboard for October. So many more goals in progress and ticked off too. Great September and enjoy the next one!

Late to the last one, earlier to this one: I would be right at the back of that starting line though...:)

You had reached some super goals in September, and I know that race , really was the icing on your cake ! Brilliant.

Looking back yes, but in a positive way, and moving forward to new goals...again in a positive way, I think, maybe I am almost, on that run route.

I had a race/run on the 15th, as you know that was unbelievably hard... but in retrospect now, it was a bit of an epiphany! I found a lot out, about my running. My physical and mental strength. So, I am looking forward now, with a much stronger and positive outlook!

So...I am going to head out in a little while... when the mist has cleared a little.. and run; not sure how far, but I shall run.

Headspace is needed right now. and I shall simply enjoy. This will be the pattern for the immediate, future.

To run, when I am able and accepting the run for what it becomes.

Routine daily strength and stamina work. to continue.

To pop some T'ai Chi sessions onto my routines. I have lost touch with those and I intend picking the first basic moves again.

Thanks for this and happy Questing to us all next month!!! x

That race on the 15th was a proper milestone for you-strong and positive is such a brilliant mindset to take forward into next month. The headspace running brings is pretty much impossible to beat! Hoping for many lovely runs and I’m sure the other goals you’ve got (especially the tai chi) will bring the strength and headspace you need,

Lots of challenges but lots to celebrate too. You are a rockstar as CB would say!!

Ooh, it is lovely to check in again at this point.

Especially as I am really pleased with my achievements this month. Not quite a full house and a couple of things to do today or tomorrow (but I can realistically expect to do them 😀)

My British wildlife medal a month series for 2024 has been a good motivator in most ways (ensuring that I have done a 5K run (once a post-Covid walk) every month) but this month I wanted it not to be the only run! And for two different, unintentional reasons, I did two 'extra' runs, when I said I wanted to make sure I did at least one extra. More on the lovely 5K elsewhere.

Walking - averaging 10+ active minutes a day across the month is achieved and, having thought I might be asking too much of myself, the new additional goal of 30 'Active 10s' just needs one more. (I include my running in these)

Pelvic floor exercises - almost 100% and some of those not recorded are probably just that... forgetting to hit the save button on the app. I wasn't doing these with any symptoms in mind and can't say I've noticed any positive impact and it is... very dull. So I don't think I'll be including this in my Quest goals next month, even if I am carrying on with them.

Yoga - I aimed for 30+ sessions and 15+ to be Ekhart classes. I didn't record this very well and I am pretty sure that I didn't do 30, but I have done 15 classes. Late in the month i started a programme which has been a great fit for me. I have just one hatha class left to do on that. So I consider the spirit of this goal pretty much achieved.

I love September, it always says new beginnings to me and there are things to adjust to (like day length) It's been a momentous month in the GM household, exciting, terrifying, perplexing... so I am raring to go for our October Quests. Bring it on Friday Yesletsgo and a big thank you to MissUnderstanding for hosting September so beautifully.

Hi Miss U

Thank you for this round up post and for hosting this September Quest. I was happy to tag on near the end.

Well done on your positive results during the month, and good luck building for your 10k next month.

I did get my running shoes back on, after a spell on the IC with Covid, and have completed the first three runs of WK1 of the c25k plan and enjoyed them.

Yoga has been happening most days, and I'm very happy with my walking this month, considering I was unwell for the first half of September.

To celebrate my running return I have ordered a new Tikiboo running top, how exciting is that. ☺️ watching out for the parcel...

I will be here for the October Quest with Yesletsgo leading the way, as I move onwards and upwards 🤞

Well done fellow questers
