Finally, the wind seems to have abated! I looked out at the river this morning, it was flat as a millpond and the plastic tarps covering the scaffolding on the house opposite were no longer flapping. What a relief.
I still haven't got my good running shoes back (I left them at my brother's house last weekend) so decided on a 3k. Much as I'd have liked to go further it's not worth risking it with worn out trainers.
The paths have almost dried out though there are still a couple of muddy patches. It was so pleasant not to be fighting a stiff breeze all the way. Somehow the winds round here hit you in the face whichever direction you go
When I checked my stats afterwards I saw this was my quickest 3k for a while. I realised I was going faster as my husband was close enough for us to talk for the first km or so. He pulled away after that, and I walked a few times as my heartrate was higher than I like. When I looked at the graph on the NRC it's almost like an interval run! Slowing down to speed up?
Any increase in speed is purely down to the conditions, not effort on my behalf

The weather this morning was glorious! Sounds like a super run for you and your husband. Sometimes everything just falls into place and the stats give you a massive grin! You’ve been running really consistently with the 10k plan-perhaps those numbers are your fitness starting to show? Whatever it was down to, congratulations!
🍏Oh those winds!! When we don’t have them it feels so very special out there!! Sounds perfect for a 3K run with Hubby. A run is a run and you nailed it according to your stats! Well done!
Strangely enough there was a Wednesday morning Loki followed me walking to the start of a short run I was going to run, he followed me running for about 40 meters before disappearing into a garden.
Hubby and I are also members of today's 3k club. It was such a lovely morning it would have been a shame not to run. Here's to many more calm, dry days.
Even in really cold weather I like to run 3K just to keep the old legs in running order, if I don't get to parkrun because it's cancelled I'll run what I call a "3K maintenance run", usually in around 20/22 minutes, I bit like run 3 of week 5 of C25K.
