Just a quick update: I committed to the ASICS Runkeeper 5k plan yesterday (see post healthunlocked.com/bridgeto... ) and have as of this morning made my start, heading out with Coach Erin for that first run of the plan.
Donned my calf compression sleeve, long sleeved T, vest underneath, fleece hoodie, all round trail-and-Road shoes, peaked cap.
Lovely run, it felt quite easy. So my fitness must not have diminished too much.
Erin chats quite a lot, focussing on both mindful and posture aspects of running, which I welcomed. Reminders on how to keep shoulders relaxed with practical solutions on how to get there,( “breathe in through your nose, and now, when you breathe out through your mouth, let those shoulders drop a bit more….”). Simple things but things I certainly need reminders for as I could feel my shoulders relaxing/dropping more than I usually do. So this was welcomed.
I could play my music softly in the background, but not sure the volume adapted, as Erin talked most of the time.
Big plus was also that she announced the half point. Always appreciated.
and she also chats through any walking intervals, which is like having nice company along.
