Really happy with my questing so far in week 1. Am going to do a bit of trumpet blowing because I've never ever ever had such a healthy start to a New Year πΊπΊπΊ . Have to give credit to Yesletsgo and HU for setting the quest as I probably wouldn't have kept up the running at this time of year without it. Ran just shy of 6K today and 5K on Monday, so have fulfilled my quest to do 2 runs a week. Strength and flex is going well though I've changed to focusing on this thorough yoga (2 out of three days so far) and finally my more energetic walking is coming on. I read an article that gave me the idea of rotating my right hip slightly inward when striding. I think I'm going to save money on heel repairs on my walking shoes as I definitely roll on the outer edge of my foot normally. The welcome challenge of the quest will be keeping it up. Happy Questing to everyone taking part. ππ¦
Happy Week 1 January Questers.: Really happy... - Bridge to 10K

Thanks MisUnderstanding, great start for you too. π Me too - also looking forward to hearing everyone's updates. π
Well done you... I am questing well, but no running... weather has been dire and now a twinge in the knee... BUT... mixing every day for Red January... Yoga, walking and S and F work... hopefully, I will be able to emulate your terrific progress soon!!!
Thank uou for the encouragement, good that you are listening to your body. Yoga was a game changer for me. Back in April last year when I took up C25K and yoga, I had virtually accepted that I was going to go through the rest of my days in some significant pain in both my ankles and knees. As much as I loved my mum I didn't want history to repeat itself so started to put into practice advice from a documentary by one of the Van Tulleken twins on joint pain and trying to stay away from pain killers. 8 months in and I'm good, not without the odd twinge as you say but nothing like before Yoga and C25K. Wishing you a swift recovery and happy running when the time is right β οΈ π
Update... Knee twinge has eased...I shall make sure I check the dishwasher door is closed in future! So... weather permitting, Sunday is run day... if the forecast icy start does not occur! Then... return journey to 10K will happen, yet once more
Listening to our body is key. I have over my years here, written so many posts about it on all the running forums. It really is our best guide and our best friend and we ignore its voice to our detriment
