I think it might be winter

Drinking coffee and looking out of the window this morning, the idea of running wasn't inviting. Frost on the roofs, condensation inside the car, gloom. Checked the weather forecast to see if tomorrow would be better - maybe a degree warmer but a strong possibility of rain. A short discussion with my husband, I think each was hoping the other would say 'no, not today' but neither of us was going to be that person.

Up until now I've been running in a short sleeved t shirt and 3/4 leggings and maybe gloves. Today I dug the full works out of my drawer. Running jumper, cold weather leggings, woolly hat, gloves and...where's my buff? A silk scarf had to take its place. My husband was in shorts and a short sleeved t shirt, but he did wear a beanie and gloves. He's made of stern stuff!

Once we actually started running it wasn't too bad. After km the gloves and scarf came off but the jumper and hat stayed on all the way home. We did 3km which was enough, then home to a big cooked breakfast and a hot shower.

It's way better than being so hot you can't think straight :)

Good 3K run for you and your husband Yesletsgo, good photo of you running in the countryside, when I don't go to a parkrun on a Saturday I always run what I call a 3K maintenance run as I did yesterday in a - 1C temperature, that is long enough in those temperatures to keep the legs in running order, this cold spell is forecast to continue this week with a slight possibility of snow in the south of England, especially on high ground on Thursday. 😊

Thank you, definitely a maintenance run  AlMorr . If it had been warmer maybe it would have been longer or some intervals but this weather it's enough just to get out there, isn't it?

Sounds like a good run in lovely surroundings. I also ran this morning - 0C and frosty. I also I opted for full cold weather gear but no temptation to take anything off at all! It was the best part of the day and quite exhilarating. Happy running 🏃‍♂️

Sounds like it was colder where you were, no frost by the time I got out this morning. Removing hat and gloves was plenty :)
