Good morning running friends... this is me here!
Okay...Yes, it's a PLUG... no, not that type … this is an unashamed PLUG for the Strength and Flex Forum...one of our most useful sister sites.
A few weeks ago, I posted about it and within that post another plug; a plug for the new Changing Room Chat. ( You need to pop in... all about back ache this week )!
Okay...so why am I plugging away again now?
Well... since the posts went up, we have seen a few folk there and I have tagged some new graduates...but many folk are moving on and struggling a tad, whom we never see there
So, having gone through the C25K programme...hopefully injury free, you are here and moving on to even greater things, but as you do that and runs distances and speed may increase there may be little problems which begin to appear. And that is where the Strength and Flex From comes in!
So, for those folk here who have never, sadly, visited the forum... this may help you see why it may be a really good idea to do so!
There is a LOAD of useful stuff there...links and posts put up by the wonderful CBDB and myself... and contributions from many, many of our awesome running friends, There are challenges, activities, advice and an excess of exercises for every part of your running ( or walking) body !
(Take a look at the latest Step posts from ToothPickJafah )!
What kind of stuff I hear you ask... well.... exercise stuff of course.
The Strength and Flexibility Forum, is all about our different exercise needs as runners. We share it too, with Active 10, Bridge to 10k and Marathon and Race Support.
The forum supports the sharing of experiences at all levels, and makes use of fitness resources by the NHS as well as mainly freely available resources shared by our community., and we have some great ones...
I am not going to fill this post with links. You need to pop across and take a look. The Admin Team are reading, regularly, posts about injury... we try to answer the questions but if you pop across to S and F forum, you may find the answer to your niggle or twinge questions!
healthunlocked.com/strength...
If you are going across for something specific, have a quick look around at pinned posts etc. and if you are still a tad lost...write your post and or question on there and we will answer you...maybe not immediately, it depends if we are doing exercise stuff or cooking a meal for the family! We can then point you in the direction of some exercises which will support your recovery... and help those aching knees.
We are NOT medical experts though and if in any doubt at all... seek expert medical advice!
So... what are you waiting for... do please take a look, it may be one of the best things that you do.
